Should blow away whatever, , boxing is on this weekend.

 

I agree..2 top guys in the division fighting each other.....there is no hiding in the UFC...after this fight the winner will probably have to fight/rematch Yoel Romero or Costa...fuck your 2-3 tune ups...fuck avoiding each other for years "building up the fight"...

 

The rest of the card is a dumpster fire though

 

Adesanya won but I was not that impressed. Whittaker was swinging wildly and still catching him and winning most of the exchanges. Prime Anderson could still rule this division.

 

Adesanya has some really good offensive skills though.

 

Could . Hed wreck anybody in the division

You think prime silva lose to these guys??? Really???

 

Not sure how he beats Romero, but I'd pick him over the other ones.

 

Come on. Silva was almost 40 when he lost to Weidman. He wasn't in his prime. And yeah Romero wrassling might cause silva some problem, but he always gass and he would be a sitting duck in the latter rounds, and I don't thjink he survives (even if he has a great chin)

 

Man silva is getting the fedor treatment aka getting underrated criminally cause he lost a few times past his prime.

 

Sonnen, off his roids, got destroyed without much fuss

 

Unless im mistaken, silva was only caught roiding when he was past his prime and sucky

 

If sonnen managed to not get past the shitty test but silva did, only means that he was much more roided, which goes back to my original point. When the playing field was even. Sonnen got crushed like a bug

 

At the end of the day, mma is a mistakes sport. Even roided to the max, he still made a fatal mistake and unsurprisingly enough, he also did one (much more early) when juice strenght wasnt an issue

 

Agreed that silva had trouble with wresler. I rebember him getting laid on for the whole fight by a fat Japanese pro wresler (alexander otsuka or something like this). Should have lost this one.

 

Adesanya is overrated. Costa will smash him.

 

I agree. AD is a bit overrated and although he can show a lot of flash away from competition he seems to actually show a very limited effective striking arsenal when engaged. He’s no Anthony Pettis when it comes to offensive variety.

AD’s arsenal is mostly composed of long range single or double shots, the occasional calf kick and front kick. He doesn’t really utilize a jab, doesn’t throw many combos and he should definitely have a better kicking arsenal. He’s not especially quick although his accuracy is pretty good. His defense also leaves a lot to be desired as he severely overrates his upper body defense and it’s eventually going to cause him to get stretched.

I also find it funny to hear he’s in his prime and new when he’s actually 30 and has been doing this for years. The only thing new is him being in the UFC.
