This wasn't a boxing match, so boxing skill means nothing.

There's a world of difference between MMA standup\Striking and boxing.

I see what Lampley was talking about when he talked about the skills in De la-Mayweather being on a different level to MMA. The main event could have taken place in a bar.

Expected it to be better than most thought it would, but never thought any of the underdogs had any serious chance to pull the upsets. Props to both of them

So punching with shitty technique, no speed, bad balance, bad co-ordination and no defence is MMA's version of boxing.

De La Hoya & Mayweather didn't have to worry about getting kicked or taken to the ground either. You have to take into account all of the things these guys have to defend from while trying to fight. You obviously have no idea what your talking about.

there's no such thing as an upset in MMA.

    this year certainly proved that.

jardine is garbage and i guess lidell is done.

i was expecting rua to shine, but he sucked too.

fedor might as well retire. he'll probably lose to tim sylvia if he ever comes to UFC

You're such a doofus. And you're completely f'n clueless when it comes to MMA. Why do you even bother watching something you clearly don't understand?

You can bitch and cry all you want and try to piss on tonights cards as much as you can, it won't change the fact that tonight was an excellent night of fights.

Im not clueless. I say what i see. Calling the main event skill is disrespect to guys like Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones. The Griffen-Shogun was entertaining and had a much higher skill level then the main event did.

How is that a riduclous statement? In boxing, you don't have to worry about kicks, knees, takedowns, clinches, elbows, etc.

You can be the best P4P boxer in the world, but if you went into an MMA fight and tried to box as if you were in a boxing match, you'd get killed, and quick too.

Boxing and Striking are two different ballgames.

Wow tough crowd. When guys trash boxing thats ok. When UFC gets any kind of critisism people cry. I say what i see. No way can you say that fight had any kind of skill. Thats probably why every comeback has been insulting not factual.

You say what you see, but it's clear you don't understand what you see.

Your comparisons to Mayweather and Roy Jones are ridiculous, because these were not boxing matches. You obviously don't understand MMA if you're judging it on boxing standards.

Because most of the MMA bashing is just ignorant, and bashing it for the sake of bashing it.

Tonight was an excellent night of fights, and if people want to bash it, it's clear they either have no idea what they're watching, or they just need to bash MMA no matter how good or bad the fights are.

Well, I think a good boxer would do well in MMA, already made the arguments with winner by choke a few days ago so wont go into it again. But, boxing is considered an excellent striking style in mma, dont know how you can deny this.

It is boxing. Boxing is a martial art. All these guys train for boxing everyday.

Its kinda sad that the "troll" and the guy who "doesn't know shit" is educating the UFC fanboy.

Like i said i say what i see. The first fight was good. The Griffen-Shogun fight was good. Lidell-Jardine was watchable but the skill level was a joke. If you can't admit this your in denial or your an idiot.

Like I said, if you go into an MMA fight and try to box as if it were a traditional boxing match, you'll get killed, and pretty damn quickly too.

If you can't comprehend that simple concept...oh well. Good luck with walking and chewing gum at the same time.

Judging on how Jardine and Lidell performed tonight i don't see how. A guy with boxing skills Quinton Jackson KO'ed Lidell in like 1 minute. All he did was blocked a punch then countered. Neither guy tonight tried blocking.
