Third win in a row and a huge win at that over Kongo. Mark Hunt is 2 wins away from a title shot! How crazy is that ? Next I wanna see him fight Roy Nelson.

And you know what.....if he got a title shot....there is no reason why I cant see his landing something big against JDS or Overeem. Crazy shit.

That's exactly what I was thinking. He actually has a chance against JDS solely because it would be a striking war and you never know and if somehow someway it's Overeem who is champ his chances easily double because of Overeem's windex chin.

I'd like to see Hunt face Werdum, Carwin or Struve next.

If Carwin is healthy by mid 2012, that would a fantastic match-up. If Mir didn't have Velasquez up next, I'd love Mir-Hunt too.

But before anyone gets too excited about Hunt beating JDS or Overeem, keep in mind that Hunt has lost 5 of his last 9 fights by submission including once to the very same Overeem.

Hunt is still Hunt. A kickboxer with no ground game. He's been matched well so far in the UFC. Well, except for facing the very average Sean McCorkle and getting subbed in under 2 minutes. LOL.

hunt nearly pulled an armbar on rothwell! he's improved!

i can see him knocking mir's head off, but if it ends on the ground, i'm sure he'll get armbarred.

i forgot about carwin. that's an explosive match up.

Hunt still sucks when he's not facing a striker. Let's not get excited.

Sadly for Hunt, they all better ground games. Hunt is a true one trick Pony.

You really think Hunt cant catch Mir or Werdum with a big shot before they get him down? I do.

He certainly COULD, but his recent history against good grapplers shows that it is more likely that he won't. Barnett, Fedor, Moussasi, Overeem, and McCorkle all avoided the big KO and subbed Hunt in less than a round. (Fedor took 8 minutes).

He could, but it's much more likely that he gets submitted by both.

I think the Hunt/Struve match is dynamite. I'd give him that fight before stepping in with the big dogs. If he beats Struve, then match him with Carwin. That shit could be just bomb after bomb.

Yep.. If the UFC is smart, they'll put all their 2nd tier strikers up against Hunt.

Feed him a gauntlet of Schaub, Russow, Kharitonov, Mitrione, Barry..

The dude could go on a KO streak and earn a title shot.

Thats actually smart shit right there. You would have to probably give him a carwin or something of those likes before you actually gave him the nod, but with a run of wins like that it really opens some doors for him. I like Struve or Barry next. That would be good entertainment. Hunt/Struve would almost look like a freak show fight from the old Pride days. Not saying both guys aren't legit, just saying the stark contrasts in size would be funny to see in the ring.:giggle:
