Canelo went to a museum and was looking puzzled at a Picasso. He turns to his manager and says, "I DRAW better than this guy!"

While You're Waiting, Why Not Harken Back to the Day When the Aforementioned Ray Leonard Made a Reigning Champion @ 175 MOVE DOWN to '68, in Defense of his Own Title, AND Won a Vacant Supermiddle Title, Simultaneously???...

Or Are we Still Pretending Canelo's the ONLY Fighter to Ever Insist Upon a Catchweight???...

Hard to get fights when nobody wants to get in the ring with you.

You seem to suggest he should wear a sign around his neck that says "Will suck dick for make fights" to prove that he deserves to fight these guys.

I'm pretty sure I've made it clear several times that was a piece of shit move by Leonard. Lalonde's title should never have been on the line and I don't consider that a legitimately won title.

I'm not sure alvarez beats lemieux.

I'll put it like this, I give lemook a better shot at beating alvarez than I give alvarez of beating golovkin

Alvarez is not a manufactured star. He Is a pretty good fighter, even though he has some serious flaws, and he has faced hard oppositions. Still, What he's doing in this situation is completely disgusting, and makes him look like a coward.

Hope this will be the incentive for GGG to move up, cause if he doesnt, hell squander his career

Canelo is not a manufactured star. I think he's better than pretty good.

I don't think he has any serious flaws and, of course, he has faced some tough opposition.

At 154, he has many options that are viable and important. At 160, GGG stands way above the other options and he looks bad if he doesn't fight GGG all the while claiming to be the middleweight champ. I suspect it is Canelo's management that is responsible for what is going on right now. That's what they are paid to do, though.

GGG should just plant his ass at 160 and make history and fight Canelo when Canelo's management are ready to make it happen. I don't see how 168 helps his career.

While that's true i think when people are saying "manufactured star" they're referring more to the media hype elevating him to a status he's not yet earned, not that he's a fraud.

The reason I think that's an inaccurate reference for Canelo is because the guy has had unnatural appeal his entire career. Long before HBO grabbed him and did their 'manufacturing', Canelo was already becoming a major star with no help:

from May, 2010: LAS VEGAS -- Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya went to Mexico to personally sign 19-year-old Saul Alvarez in January, believing that he had a chance to become a major star. After the signing, De La Hoya hailed the move as "a historical day for Golden Boy."
Alvarez's popularity was growing steadily in Mexico, where he will continue to fight, but De La Hoya's vision was to also increase his profile in the United States.

I can't remember the fight, but Canelo had a stupid, non-fight on Azteca that had like a million viewers. This isn't what 'manufacturing' a star is. That fits guys like Broner whose hype is way too much from the beginning.

If GGG comes down to 155 he'll lose, IMO. At 160 he wins.

Quite possibly. If GGG could easily make the weight and also have it not affect his ability of course he should accept it. GGG is not a huge middleweight by any stretch but at his age getting into fighting shape and dropping 5 pounds might be a terrible mistake. More time in training spent worrying about the scale than the opponent. While this dictating terms because you're the "draw" is annoying as fuck on its own, I don't believe this just a matter of principle from Golovkin's camp but a proper concern.

The former WBC middleweight champion, who currently fights within the middleweight limit, gave up his title rather than fight GGG at the middleweight limit.

Spin it however you like, he shamelessly ducked GGG.

Alvarez did what he had to do/was advised to do. To stretch out another easy payday or two before he has to pay the piper. Public demand will dictate he has to take his medicine eventually.

How do those skeptical of golovkins resume feel about a Lara fight?

Would Lara be a satisfactory opponent?

I'd certainly say so.....if alvarez is a better opponent than Lara it isn't by much.

    Canelo pre-Golov "I don't fuck around!"

After Golov rapes him to the body all night, Golov says in the post-fight "You won't be fucking period for awhile."
