Fuck the flat fee. It's only being offered because they know it will be a huge $ fight and they don't want GGG to get a fair amount. Actually, it's only being offered because they know it's a bullshit deal for GGG and they want him to decline the offer, thus saving face with guys like Reed and keeping another loss off of Canelo's record.

GGG may just be saying fuck Canelo and looking to make a run at the uk. If he establishes himself there and gets by Brook there's Saunders and Eubank and then he can move up for Degale who may have unified against Jack by then.

He doesn't have that much longer of a career left and if the names won't fight him the fame might just amount to a few extra hundred grand to beat up Willie Munroe.

Canelo is basically trying to get him to waste his career waiting on him. Fuck that ginger spinc. Boxing is big in England right now and he get the money he's looking for there.

Delahoya remembers when Arum offered him the choice of a flat fee or PPV upside for the trinidad fight. Delahoya took the flat fee and Arum ended up making more money than him once the PPVs were counted.

If it's the "Career High Purse" DeLa Says it Will Be, GGG Really has NO Choice But to Accept It...

Sure, Golden Boy is Blatantly LEVERAGING GGG and if he Declines They'll Say "Hey, We TRIED to Make the Fight"...But @ WHAT Point Does GGG Do WHATEVER it Takes to Finally Get that Big Fight he Clamors???...

From what REED has Read, GGG Made 1.5mil for Monroe Jr., 2mil for Lemieux and Stands to Make 5mil for Brook...If Golden Boy Offered GGG a Flat Fee of 5.5 or 6mil, that's MORE than Fair in REED's Opinion...

And Again, @ WHAT Point Does GGG Do WHATEVER it Takes to Get that Marquee Bout???...If he BEAT Canelo, he'd NEVER have to Take Short Money Again...Gamble On Yourself, WIN the Fight Everybody Expects You to Win & STACK Your Paper Afterwards...

Reed, your opinion is your opinion, but you sound like someone making a UFC argument. DLH is almost surely not making a legitimate, fair offer even if it meets your criteria.

The fact that very few superstar fighters take flat-fee agreements like this should tell you something.

I learned like 15 years ago that whenever a promoter publicizes that he's offering a "career high payday" it's a red flag that he's full of shit. This fight isn't happening and I don't really care anymore.

    Shame on you sheep.

There's an upward trajectory there tho - the fair comparison will be between what gb offers and what Ggg can get elsewhere at the time this (hypothetical) offer comes. Tho I tend to agREE(D) that ggg would be cutting his nose off somewhat not to treat being short changed this one time as an investment

5.5 or 6 million is a good payday for golovkin. Id say he should clamor for 10 mill if its gonna be a flat fee. simply because he will surely be victorious and his 2 million dollar paydays will increase by double vs mediocre opposition.

the main problem is that this is his one major payday and its unlikely there will be a rematch if he wins in 1 sided fashion. he has good management and they surely wont be punked into taking what they deem unfair compensation.

but they need to weigh that against what the upside is.

perhaps someone will emerge from 154 and make for a big fight.i dont see any showdowns on the horizon at 68 that will pay great, though
