What if the ref counts "sev, eigh, nin, te and out" Is that a short or a quick count?

You know yourself fighters will wait til 8 or 9 to get up though. Rubio doesn't have a time piece to synchronize his get-up with, he's responding to the refs count.

Donaire looked sharp early and even hurt Walter's at the end of the round. I noticed Walters made an adjustment after getting caught and he started boxing and using his jab more. Nice fight, nice finish and nice class from both guys.

GGG looks amazing KOing a bunch of bums so who knows how good he is. My guess is he's an average boxer with average power. Once he steps up to even B-level competition guys won't be folding over as easily and not much at all once he steps up to A-class level. I've seen this a thousand times, the weaker the class the weaker the chin, it doesn't mean shit.

Ike WAS a killer in there. He was one of the strongest welter's around and he was an A+ fighter. A lot of those guys he was blowing out were top contenders.

This triple G dude is obviously talented and pretty good. How good though remains to be seen. He's separated himself from the C-level guys out there so let's see him step it up.

"distanced himself from C level fighters"

He's utterly annihilated everybody in front of him

Who would you rank ahead of him at 160?

True that. With the new amateur pillows and with the rules system of 04 (where only straight punches scored points and any amount of running and clinching were allowed) Golovkin still knocked his opponents down and bullied them around, won world championship and lost the Olympic gold because his opponent Gaydarbekov displayed shameful survival tactics in the last rounds. You can blame GGG for being untested and rightfully so, but you can't deny his punching power

I reckon he's probably the best puncher since featherweight Pacquiao, what do you think? Has that same effortless power, just clipping guys and knocking them down hard. And the same weird ability of not needing to be set at all to throw a meaty power shot.

Agreed. I have no problem with REED et al reserving judgement until he's fought someone approaching elite fighter level, but to deny his power is insane.

So you mean best combination of power and ability to land it effectively? Arguably true.

P4P, I think Kovalev and Adonis hit harder.

he got lucky and KOd taylor in a fight he was losing. lost to dirrell, got dominated by ward, lost to kessler, barely beat an old kessler in the rematch. other than that he has beat a buncha white stiffs.
