Yes, but what I meant is - the pickups on that MIJ are alnico stock - not staggered ceramics or.... Seymour Duncans!
Played drums and sang in bands since I was a kid, although it's been a few years since I've played. Much better drummer than a singer and mostly sang out of necessity. TFK
REED Played the Violin and Recorder Up Until High School, and has Written Rhymes for as Looooooooooooong as he Can Remember... REED
Yep... @ the Elementary School REED Attended, 1nce You Hit 4th Grade, Violin was the 1st Instrument Students were Allowed to Play...In 5th Grade, You Could Play ANY Instrument in the Orchestra... REED was ANXIOUS to Try an Instrument, ANY Instrument, but his "Plan" was to Play Violin, Just to Get his Instrument Playing FEET Wet, Before Moving Onto Something COOLER Like the Drums or Some Other Form of Percussion... But the Guy that Ran the Orchestra (No B.S., his Name was Gene Rayburn, but this WASN'T the Famous Game Show Host ) WOULDN'T Allow REED to Do So...By the Middle of 4th Grade, REED was 2nd Chair in the Entire Elementary School, w/a 6th Grader Being 1st Chair....1nce She Matriculated Onwards, REED was 1st Chair Violin his Final 2 Years of Elementary... Needless to Say, Mr. Rayburn Wasn't About to Let the Future Lead Violinist of his Orchestra Move On to "Try" Some New Shit, Just Because it was "Cooler"...Mr. Rayburn's HEART was in the Right Place, but the Peer Pressure and Negativity Heaped Upon REED was a Bit Much @ that Age... REED was Like 5th Chair, or So, in Middle School, w/Out Putting Forth The Least Bit of Effort to Get Better @ It... Honestly, REED HATED the Shit by 5th Grade...You Can Imagine How "Cool" It WASN'T, to Play Violin in Inner City St. Louis, in the Early 80's... REED
I always played on Pearl sets for the most part. Never had a real high end drum set. Up until the point when I finally got fed up with lugging all of my shit around and bought a Roland V-Drums set. I got some flack from other drummers for not playing on a 'real' set, but my shit was set up and broken down quick as hell, sounded awesome, never went out of tune, never broke a head and I had about a billion and a half different drum sounds to choose from. I always played real cymbals though. TFK
My drummer always played on a fairly minimalist kind of "Frankenset" utilizing various pieces of supposedly differing quality... A great drummer can make any set sound good and a bad drummer can make the best set sound bad, just like anything
I play piano and guitar, moderately good at both. I just like to play for my own enjoyment, and dont really give a shit "what" im playing so i have 1 acoustic, 1 electric and a digital piano, they are all descent but i couldnt care less to form some swanky collection.
I don't mind the Roland electric kits but you can't best the feel and sound of the real thing. I've always been a fan of pearl and my very first kit was a pearl export kit. Always liked Sabian cymbals but I bought Paiste not too long ago and must say I love them.
