The Flash tv series

Anyone else watching? I love it. I remember being so bummed out that the original was canceled when I was young.

 

Flash to me is an invincible character and because of that I'm not intrigued. If someone can move at the speed of light, they cannot be harmed and they can achieve anything they want.

 

He's not even close to that speed in the series. It wouldn't be compelling if he was. A lot of people complain that he should be faster but this is about him learning. The Flash in the Justice League will be near max speed to my understanding.

 

That actually sounds kind of intriguing.


I'm still not watching it though.

 

For a change I'm not going to put a downer on a thread and I'm going to start watching The Flash tonight.

Watching again tonight -
I was never a DC fan but this looks ok...

 

Awesome. The first season is incredible. My favorite episode is 9. You'll see.

 

Okay I got through episodes 3-5 last night and it's better than expected but... dorky Barry Allen is so freaking infuriating: just take Iris the fit-chick already.

Plus the professor is annoying as fuck...the programme does come off a bit 'Clark & Lois' at times but then with Marvel specifically focussed on more adult shows, a bit of balance doesn't hurt.

So far: 7/10

So hold on, why, if this guy who has made The Flash his own in the hugely rated TV series.....isn't he playing The Flash in the upcoming Justice League movie?

 

The TV and movie universes are separate. I don't know why. I still am mad about it.

Still, Fox are constantly changing the actor for Spider-man so in effect, no-one's 'defined' the role.

 

Multiple Batman actors also.

Side note: in the TV series, Barry's dad is played by John Wesley Shipp. The Flash of the 90's show.

 

This is why DC can't get it right.

Yes.

 

More light-hearted and adult-orientated than Marvel's TV series.
I'd liken it in that respect to Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D
(which I prefer tbh)

i would describe it's style as similar to the Toby McGuire Spiderman movies

SuperGirl has also the same tone and is better than the Flash.

I was the first one here who watched the 'Flash' movie pilot and the first season when all of you were calling it gay without even bothering to check it. Now that it is on Netflix you idiots just discovered it. You still need to overcome your prejudice and watch 'SuperGirl' which is a better show IMO.
