Wouldn't say that's true at all, the countries are basically siblings albeit ones which got into different stuff and haven't always gotten along. I'm scottish of an Irish Catholic family fwiw

If Valero had no talent whatsoever.

 

If he hasn't improved significantly since then, Floyd could beat him with one hand tied behind his back.

 

Is McGregor being intentionally slow??

 

I don't think McGregor approved this.

McGregor posted an edited version of the sparring session on his web site that made it look like he was schooling Van Heerden. After Van Heerden saw it he posted the unedited version that his friend recorded on his phone.

 

"Beach balls..... don't hit back."

 

Sssshhhh.... let him maintain his McGregor fantasy.

For the record, I'm sure McGregor will have improved from this sparring session by fight night.

And I'm sure that it won't matter.

 

I've been speaking to quite a few hard core MMA fans recently on this fight and the general consensus among MMA fans (from my limited polling) seems to be that Conor is going to knock Mayweather out. I'm shocked. I thought even MMA fans would know that in a boxing arena Conor has no chance.

 

Also, I'm still of the opinion that from a boxing perspective Conor's power aint shit. I am of the opinion that it's easier to knock out MMA fighters with punches in the octagon for two reasons:

1. They don't train specifically to be able to take punches (no hours of sparing experience taking punches for example)
2. They are getting hit with 4lb gloves

In a boxing ring I doubt Conor has more than average power. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd just walk through his power like it was nothing.

 

Valero would have put Conor into a coma in a boxing fight.

McGregor is 28 taking up a sport for the first time. Nobody will ever excel at a high class level in any sport taking it up at such an old age.

Are you referring to me? Are you implying that I made up the speaking with hardcore MMA fans?

If so, I can assure you that I didn't make it up. A cousin of mine and his friends, who I hang out with from time to time are hardcore MMA guys. They train together etc and have followed the sport since ever. They seem very well versed in Martial Arts etc. Yet they each seem to think that McGregor is going to KO Floyd. Their rationale is that Conor has gotten into Floyd's head and as such Floyd is going to abandon his boxing and just go to war with the bigger, younger and power powerful fighter and that when Floyd fought Shane he was all aggressive and Shane rocked him and "if Mosley can rock Floyd, Conor will destroy him". That's the madness they're giving me.

I just laughed.
