    I don't think McGregor approved this.

    McGregor posted an edited version of the sparring session on his web site that made it look like he was schooling Van Heerden. After Van Heerden saw it he posted the unedited version that his friend recorded on his phone.

    I've been speaking to quite a few hard core MMA fans recently on this fight and the general consensus among MMA fans (from my limited polling) seems to be that Conor is going to knock Mayweather out. I'm shocked. I thought even MMA fans would know that in a boxing arena Conor has no chance.

    Also, I'm still of the opinion that from a boxing perspective Conor's power aint shit. I am of the opinion that it's easier to knock out MMA fighters with punches in the octagon for two reasons:

    1. They don't train specifically to be able to take punches (no hours of sparing experience taking punches for example)
    2. They are getting hit with 4lb gloves

    In a boxing ring I doubt Conor has more than average power. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd just walk through his power like it was nothing.

    Yeah MMA is a more recent phenemenon so the fans haven't been sitting around dissecting the intricacies of the sport for the last 20 years like we have. Many honestly believe the hype that McGregor is some interplanetary wrecking machine who can destroy absolutely anyone on the planet at his weight.

    They'll have to find out the hard way that - THIS...IS....BOXING.

    100%. He'll have average power too because, compared to a boxer, he'll be fairly slow with those boxing gloves on.

    Plus his footwork and positioning will be all wrong, so he won't get the core punch power from the legs and hips like boxers do.

    Finally, Floyd has a real good beard so I doubt McGregor will be able to hurt him much, even if he does somehow land.

    Valero would have put Conor into a coma in a boxing fight.

    McGregor is 28 taking up a sport for the first time. Nobody will ever excel at a high class level in any sport taking it up at such an old age.

    MMA guys spar just like boxers do. They have boxing coaches as as well as grappling coaches. Like I said before, being a boxer doesn't automatically give you an iron chin. The best Chins I have seen in Boxing or MMA were MMA guys with shin bones bounced off their chin and they dont even move

    Are you referring to me? Are you implying that I made up the speaking with hardcore MMA fans?

    If so, I can assure you that I didn't make it up. A cousin of mine and his friends, who I hang out with from time to time are hardcore MMA guys. They train together etc and have followed the sport since ever. They seem very well versed in Martial Arts etc. Yet they each seem to think that McGregor is going to KO Floyd. Their rationale is that Conor has gotten into Floyd's head and as such Floyd is going to abandon his boxing and just go to war with the bigger, younger and power powerful fighter and that when Floyd fought Shane he was all aggressive and Shane rocked him and "if Mosley can rock Floyd, Conor will destroy him". That's the madness they're giving me.

    I just laughed.
