Bert and his endless Cuban cigar was nothing more than a made up persona that he milked as long as he could. I feel the same way about Teddy Atlas as I do about Bert Sugar. A blustery fellow. Lots of hot air and very little substance.

Yeah, I always thought that was a stupid thing to make up. Liston wasn't immediately in the slightest. In fact, I found his stunt with the fake handgun funnier than any of Ali's wit in the build up.

Teddy IS a Blow Hard Who's MILKED His Affiliation w/Tyson and Cus D'Amato, but he's a LEGIT "Boxing Guy" Too...He's Waaaaaaaay HIGHER Up the Boxing Food Chain Than Bert Sugar's Ass Was, in REED's Opinion...

For what its worth, behind the persona, Atlas actually does know what he's taking about - from a technical perspective.

Sugar... not so much. He could only speak in clichés.

The similarities are there between Atlas and Sugar (both full of shit.) Atlas was a real boxing guy but like a million years ago. As a trainer I'm not impressed. He worked with some big names like Moorer but I don't seem to remember him taking a good or great boxer from A to Z. And for as much as he has milked the Tyson name over the years his role was more of a second/bucket boy for Tyson. I think Rooney and obviously Cus played a bigger role(chief seconds) in Tyson's Corner.
