The Monaco fight happened a good seven years after Douglas beat Tyson, and it was a DQ win for Douglas. Monaco knocked him out after the bell.

Maybe you're talking about Mike White who beat Douglas in 1983? Again, roughly seven years away from the Tyson fight.

I'm talking about a series of MMA fights that happened mere months apart.

 

Monaco and Murray both dd infact beat the man that beat Tyson. Kevin McBride.

Actually your comparison is more shit than mine. Liddell was NOT the reigning champion when he lost to Jardine. Like Tyson when McBride beat him, Liddell was a former champion.

 

I shouldn't have to point out how ridiculous that comparison is.

Tyson was years removed from championship status. Everyone thought Chuck was the best guy around one fight prior. ::

What were the results of this? I missed it. I saw part of the Guida fight but IMHO it was boring so I left.

 

Belcher beat Herman by SD, Diaz beat Neer by SD, Schaffer beat Alexander by submission in the first round, Guida beat Danzig by UD.

On the undercard, Joe Lauzon was victorious by 2nd round TKO.

 

That's actually incorrect. Lidell was the favorite against Jackson in the rematch.
