Now...that is low. I have been contrary and controversial and push a few buttons but I never "spam" as such.
Bowe did it...after almost getting stopped himself. Not that either fighter was at their best in the fight...Bowe was a clearly diminished fighter at that point of his career, and Holyfield's stamina was so poor in the third fight he couldn't even put the finishing touches on Bowe when he had him beat. Wasn't that also the fight Foreman brought out the "pine box" comment? Either way, hardly comparable to the Holyfield in the first fight, that still had something to give at the end of some of the late rounds, even after taking some of Bowe's best.

Agreed...although Vitali would beat him head to head..IMO. Wlad does have one of the best Heavyweight KO%ages in history though. Perhaps only Vitali and Foreman are better?
I wouldn't be certain Vitali would beat him. Wlad is the much better boxer and much harder & better puncher. Of course Vitali has the better chin but im not sure he's a hard enough single puncher to take advantage of that. It'd be a fascinating one in an alternate universe, though I think it's a credit to both of them that they won't cash out on that match up.
Yup. I wouldn't want to actually see it. Two brothers fighting for money...is ugly. Vitali is most definitely a hard enough puncher to knock Wlad out. No Doubt.
He didn't stab him, he shot him...result's the same. Guy's dead, & Ibragimov survived. Holyfield would survive, too. A thousand times out of a thousand. If Klitschko wouldn't open up for this guy, he wouldn't open up for Holyfield. Any way it's sliced, I cannot envision a single scenario where Holyfield doesn't hear the final bell against him. You're really bringing up Holyfield & Briggs? Wow. Talk about selective.
I wouldn't say Bowe, "killed" Holyfield, though. That'd be pushing it too far. It was a fairly close fight, & Bowe was seriously wounded in the sixth, dropped for the first time in his career, if memory serves. This is before you cosnider Holyfield's unsual condition for the fight, too. I don't see any fight, sans maybe the Toney clash, where Holyfield could said to be killed, & the last fella in recent memory I could ever imagine doing it the way he fights is Klitschko.
Against Chris Byrd, who fought Tua, Golota, Holyfield, Wlad, Vitali, Ibeabuchi, Povetkin and others. Only Wlad and Ibeabuchi really stopped the guy. I mean beat the guy down. So basically Wlad showed fight ending power against a guy that Tua didn't show it against. So maybe Tua doesn't have fight ending power either.ointlaugh:ointlaugh: Sasha Dimitrenko and Sam Peter both lost to Chambers. Povetkin went the distance. Maybe none of those three have fight ending power either.
I think (from memory) Marciano has the KO percentage record, doesn't he? I know Foreman eclipsed him a few times, but ultimately fell away, fighting too long.
Foreman fought guys like Tommy Morrison and Lou Savarese, so it was only natural that his KO ratio would suffer a bit. Marciano and other old-timers did not have the problems of facing these Tungsten-Tough guys.
Chris Byrd is the measuring stick for stopping Holyfield, then? I guess we can are all guilty of taking liberties in this thread. I just cannot envision Holyfield getting stopped. Klitschko has impressive power, & a very handy jab with which to set it up...but he has neither the firepower (ultimately) nor --- more importantly --- the courage to make it happen against Holyfield.
..... you questioned if Wlad had fight ending power and I basically showed you how we can all fucking play around and "show" how perceived punchers might not be so heavy-handed after all. Wlad showed "fight-ending" power against a guy that Tua, Holyfield, Vitali all lost to. Maybe Vitali slaps and Evander is feather-fisted. Maybe Tua has no power either.
Well statistically fighting tough guys like Morrison and Briggs didn't do anything for Foreman's KO ratio. Maybe Foreman lacks "fight-ending" power, eh???:scared:
Wlad punches very, very hard. If you'll argue against that, you'll argue against anything concerning this guy.
Tua, Holyfield & big brother? Was it a lack of power which caused them to miss out on stopping Byrd? No, no & no.
The reason I raised Chris Byrd as a response is that the trick with stopping a guy is finding the guy first, then having the power to stop him. Ramonza is arguing, it seems, that Wlad has not stopped anyone of sufficient note for us to regard him as having "fight-ending" power. Fine. But Wlad stopped Byrd and Holyfield, Vitali, Tua etc didn't. He also stopped Chambers, who Sam Peter didn't stop. Now if those guys lack power, it is news to me. My point was that Wlad has enough power and enough talent to get his power down on target, and that Holyfield has shown enough of flaky nights that I might safely conclude that IF Holyfield showed up against Wlad on a flaky night that he could get beaten. It's not exactly the most outrageous proposition of all time. Maybe Foreman can't punch either, considering his points defeat to Briggsand Morrison and his points wins over Saverese. ::
I was being sarcastic. Basically you can nit-pick anyones record, pick out a handful of results, and make any argument you want. Some of those arguments are rational. Some of them less so.
Not true, & if it came across that way, allow me to rectify... I am not convinced he has ever shown what it takes to stop Holyfield, specifically. As for repeatedly bringing up Foreman, that'll be more worthwhile to entertain if & when little brother takes an extended hiatus & returns, well into his forties & effectively obese. We'll see what snap his shots have then.
