Boxing has already had two of those fights and they both involved Arturo Gatti. But I think it's crazy to think it will change. The 24 hour cushion gives promoters some time to negotiate a possible solution...no way the people involved want leave a potential replay of the Castillo-Corrales III weigh-in (or Castillo-Corrales II, or Corrales-Casamayor III) for the day of the fight. I still think the most reasonable solution is to keep the weigh-ins the day before the fight, and adding a mandatory second one the day of the fight - with a certain percentage of body weight a fighter is allowed to gain back and with sharp penalties firmly in place for each pound (or fraction of a pound) exceeding the limit.
They are probably using the same scale the used for Gatti and he was 5lbs lighters. I know the deal. Cupey
if zab wins this thread will turn brutal...i doubt it though. zab getting clowned sparring?? maybe in the later rounds but in the first or second rounds of sparring if he's getting his ass kicked it isnt because of shape, it is because he is in there with better guys. but if you are talking to someone in the know, you have a more informed opinion then i do.
