Jermain Taylor has absolutely no in0fighting ability. He's got to hold the hell out of Pavlik when Pavlik gets inside.

Taylor will hold like Travis Simms.

 

What´s wrong with Juan Diaz? Pavel-Lick might be a Czech pornstar, but Pavlik is an American fighter. Besides boxing will be fine, just more international.

agREED! Winky just walked him down, that is all he did. Walk him down firing jabs and straight lefts. Jermain had no answer for it, and IMO lost the fight clearly. Not only will Pavlik use a similar stategy, he will hurt Taylor in the process. Pavlik has got to be the hardest puncher Jermain has faced and it isn't like Taylor has never been hurt before. Also, take into consideration the fact that Pavlik showed a pretty damn good chin in the Miranda fight. Miranda's power may be overrated, but he damn sure landed some clean bombs on Pavlik and he just continued on walking him down and putting on the pressure.

No. Taylor is athletic. That along with his size are the only things he has going for him. His problem is he's uncoordinated, and unskilled.

Taylor is only unathletic if your comparing him to someone like Floyd, Mosley, RJ, or Zab. Guys who are super athletic. Most other fighters he can compare with.

For example, Taylor is more athletic than Cotto. Miguel is much more coordinated, and skilled however, and therefore is a better fighter.

Regardless I still think Taylor is athletic, its really the ONLY thing he has going for him. Once he gets older, and losses that, he's gonna be a big time bum cause he has NO skills to fall back on.

Jermain threw up a couple shots which hit backboard and NO rim...he damn near threw up two handed shots.

Mike Tyson is similarly uncoordinated. Check out the background piece they did on him prior to his Henry Tillman KO after the Douglas loss. Tyson was VERY uncoordinated and goofy.

 

I don't dislike Taylor anymore...I hated the way he allowed Pat Burns to run over him and treat him like a 10 year old.

Taylor seems like a good dude, but he has obviously maxed out his boxing ability.

I know what REED is sayin - in that sense, Taylor is a boxing savante. He's not some athlete who happens to box, he's a boxer pure and simple.

And as lacking as he may be in the coordination we're accustomed to seeing among black athletes, he's no doubt one of the hardest guys to beat right now.

 

Doubtless, he has that Vitali thing going on. Can't tie his shoe laces, but never had to clinch. Can't chew bubble and walk at the same time, but never been floored as a pro neither. Seems to win in spite of himself.
