Jones began losing weight right after the Hanshaw fight - I think people will be surprised how lean he is on January 19th. Whether that affects him or not remains to be seen.

It's clear that Tito hasn't fallen out of love with his power. I think this time unlike the Winky Wrong fight, he gets put to sleep.

 

Only chance I see if he gets Roy on the ropes somehow. Usually Roy stays on the ropes for a while making him miss and clowning a little.

Any other scenario Roy would be too fast.

I'm down here in Puerto Rico for the holidays. The general feeling here is that Tito is going to get KTFO. He's living off past glory here and with Cotto becoming the island's new star, Tito seems to not be coping well with it. I think the odds are against him even down here.


Regardless of weight issues, being past primed, layoffs, etc.. Roy Jones is just BETTER than Tito Trinidad. He's a better fighter. Always has been and always will be. Tito only has a puncher's chance simply because Roy isn't quite what he was. But even still, at this point I still feel that Roy is too fast, too strong, too powerful, and too skilled. Tito won't see Roy's punches and because of his pride, he'll take a huge beating.


I don't even think I'll be watching this fight. Tito is gonna get whacked badly and its going to be sad to see. The only good thing for Tito here is the career high 20 plus million he'll earn for being the sacrificial lamb.

Wish this fight was never signed.

I agree with the first part. It is obvious that Tito is fighting because of Cottos popularity. To me that is a bad reason to fight. The worst reason since Fernando Vargas is fighting for Pride.

 

I'll get my ass kicked for 20 million. That's a good enough reason for me.

 

Anyone know the official purse guarantees for this fight? (not including PPV upside).

 

Tito doesn't look bad from what I hear. I've seen some pictures and he looks alright. Not nearly as cut or as lean as when he was even for the Mayorga fight.

But all that aside, few people if any give him a chance. Most believe that not only will he lose, but that it will be the worst loss of his career.
