ok so the fight was 8 hours ago but not televised in the US so that means there is no need for a **SPOILER*** Disclaimer?
am i missing something? was this fight on US TV last night? Or is it being replayed tonight on tape delay and now we all know what happens?
fair enough, if you don't believe the numbers i gave you then this argument is pretty much done
see my response like 4 pages ago. i quoted the numbers. its ok to be wrong.... he was 100% incorrect, not "somewhat" or kind of or slightly...
It hasn't been done in a long time. I think that TFK's list is real good - you can say "dream on" to almost all of it... but in general there...
The Quincy Taylor win was like 15 years ago
as far as i know Lesnar has an intestinal infection, very serious Rampage quit because of conflicts that arose with him filming the A-Team movie
well said
All of this is irrelevant - your statement about MMA/UFC PPV's: "their numbers are down all the time" is flat out incorrect. immediately after...
the premise of this thread was based on the basis that pac-cotto outsold Tito-DLH.... which is not true!
Will you guys stop with this nonsense? ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
the number i have is 250,000 buys. And you're right they only did 3 episodes of 24/7 for that. I really think people realized Jones was washed...
As far as I know - Tito v DLH did 1.4 million PPV buys, still more than Floyd v JMM and Pac v Cotto, individually. I really think it is the 24/7...
we don't decide. we make posts on message boards saying whether we approve or disapprove of certain matchups that are made.
But you very rarely can die playing checkers
It doesn't matter, I hate MMA compared to boxing too - but the statement is incorrect. UFC's PPV numbers are not trailing off. Sorry...
Well that is not true. UFC PPV events do steadily well almost every time out. And they fluctuate with the quality of the card/main event
dammit. you're right.
and part of that which was mentioned by Barron i think - is one of the problems - Hatton spent so much time building up this undefeated record...
My point being that no boxing is NOT dead and its not dying but it is losing popularity and boxing fans gloss over it with overly dramatic...
fuck i screwed up in my post... meant to say boxing ISN'T DEAD. edited
this is another problem with boxing. people are so fucking stubborn to recognize that there is an issue. boxing is NOT DEAD.... its not DYING but...
Fuck that is a brilliant point.
But you do need to build up stars. How many PPV buys do you think Williams-Pavlik would have done? Now that's an amazing quality fight imo!...
Outselling has been the topic all along. At least that's why people are arguing that Floyd deserves NO worse than a 50-50 split... because he has...
I wouldn't put an exact figure on it - but Floyd-Cotto would have exceeded 1.25 million buys, imo
Doesn't Cotto have a whole country backing him also? The difference being that Cotto actually had/has a solid PPV backing in the USA as WELL?
What if Floyd fought Cotto next and KO'd him in 6 rounds!?! I honestly don't know how to argue or dispute the "Manny pulled in more dollars"...
But Floyd can walk around saying "I sold 2.4m vs. Oscar compared to 1.25m for Manny v Oscar" - and he can quote their other common opponents and...
This was my immediate reaction as well. These guys punish each other when they fight. Why are we doing a 4th match I understand the 3rd fight...
