Well Margarito pulled the same excuse after that fight too. Clottey showed a clear drop off in performance, it was too early to be a stamina issue and have that big a drop off. The dude damn near quit and in order for him to have been THAT fatigued I would have expected him to be in his corner heaving and shit. But he never even looked tired in that fight. It's easy to 2nd guess fighters but I believe Clottey. Who I don't believe was injured was Margarito as he never showed any significant dropoff during the fight.
U have to EXCUSE TAM...He NEVER Believes it when a Fighter Says he "Hurt"...Even when it's LEGIT... REED
Clottey shows a clear drop-off in performance at about round five in EVERY fight. Thats the point. This is the same BS he pulled in his previous HBO showing as well. Funny how his mouth started hanging open about the same time, he played the eaf muff game and stopped throwing BOTH hands. He damn near quit? So how does that further your hand argument? Plenty of guys quit because they're tired too. Margarito handled Clottey and very nearly made his ass quit. He's fragile mentaly, which is why he failed against Baldomir and Margarito...and why he'll fail again, if he can't get himself figured out. Hands? Right. It's real easy to look like a superstar for four rounds, if you're just going to go balls out and throw everything like it's meant to kill....even easier than if that fails, you have gullible people around you who believe everything you say, when your wind fails.
So U Believe Fighters LIE 100% of the Time when they Cite an Injured Hand???... Is it INCONCEIVABLE that N a Sport where U USE your Hands, they could Become INJURED From Time to Time???:dunno: REED::
Not at all. Its th serial hand offenders I have a problem with. It's just like 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'. Clottey sprouts this shit EVERY FIGHT that goes rounds...and how odd that it should always occur within a one or two round period? Amazing conincidence. At the end of the day, plenty of guys hurt their hands in fights. Most fighters don't sit down and cry about it and make a scene. They want to hide that fact, knowing what it can mean. Most fighters also don't follow that same script in almost every fight. He's a bitch.
Yeah, well I saw him fight some mexican dude before the Margarito fight and his hands held up. Just like they held up when he went 12 hard rds with Chico. After that fight and busting dozens of combos off of Chico's head, he never complained about hurt hands. His stamina looked fine which leads me to believe he was hurt in the Margarito fight. I also don't recall him making an excuse after the Baldomir fight. If he was going to make an excuse for that one, all he had to do was blame it on the ref for disqualifying him, he wouldn't have to make up a hands excuse which he never did from my memory. Funny how you seem to have such hatred for Clottey whereas I remember you sticking up for lesser fighters over lesser negative things said about them.
that's bull-shit. he didn't barely beat him. he got his with some flashy combinations by him, and the commentators creamed over his hand-speed, but when all was said and done, Margarito did him in. and he did a lot of holding in that fight too. and his stamina is crap. what does that have to do with a supposed broken hand. if i were a fighter, and i wanted to remain a viable contender, even having lost on television, i might make up a broken hand too. you think Cintron really bustyed his hand against Felicianao? Margarito should give Clottey a rematch just to strip him of his B.S. excuse and beat him down. next you're gonna tell me RJJ should be ranked ahead of Tarver at 175 because Tito is better than the last bum Tarver beat.
Ten rounds with Chico, not twelve and of course his hands held up fine...he wasn;t getting hit back and getting tired. He set a fast pace and looked like he'd knock Chico out early...and what happened? He slowed up AS HE DOES IN EVERY FIGHT. He didn't need to complain about hi hands, because Chico offered no resistance at all and Clottey was able to pick his spots after he got tired....and he DID get tired. All you gotta do is watch the fight again and look for it. And such hatred for Clottey? I HATE excuse making. It has nothing to do with "lesser" or "better"...besides hy should a "better" fighter be given a break that a "lesser" fighter isnt given? Thats totally hypocritical. And mate, he bitched and moaned about his hands on HBO, before the Margarito fight. Alot.
Well to each his own, I'll wait and see what he offers in his next fight and I'll be watching closely. For now though, I'm keeping him over Margarito. Why you ask? Because of one of the reasons you hate the most. It's my list mate! ::
