I agree that Ike does get overrated by some people, but that doesn't mean he can't beat Tyson. The reason is that Tyson is (or WAS, anyway) even more overrated than Ike gets. Ike was very arguably better than EVERY fighter Tyson lost to except one (Lewis).
More than Tyson did against Lewis. Or against Holyfield. Or against Douglas. Or against Danny Williams. Or against Kevin McIrishBum But nice of you to single out ONE line from my post and completely ignore everything else in the post that clearly explains all. :bears:
"Countering" with Tyson's stoppage of china-chinned Carl Williams doesn't exactly help your case here. The Tubbs KO is a good example, but Williams got up quickly and should have been allowed to continue. I'm not saying that Williams wouldn't have been KOed by Tyson, but he got to his feet and didn't look anything at all like Ruiz did after getting KOed by Tua.
I don't know if I'd argue that Ike was better than Holyfield... although Evander was looking pretty bad for a while before he fought Tyson.
