:l1::crying: James Toney is fat, but that is a mute point. The Afracumguzzler says the same thing about me too. I don't apologize for my superior knowledge of the sport. When I was a kid, fights that were on the wide world of sports featured superior boxers, with superior technique than 99% of the fighters on HBO or Showtime today. Not all fighters today suck, but there really are only two fighters active today that would be considered great fighters 2o years ago, Vitali would have been competitive in any era as well, arguably. Anyone who thinks the level of craft and skill is not the lowest it has ever been isn't worth the effort debating. It is obvious to all but the dimmest wit.
Go back and listen to interviews with Toney in the early 90s.. the difference between how he sounded then and now is startling. He sounds awful, he really needs to hang em up.
What's the point? The paydays are only going to get smaller and the beatings are only going to get worse. He couldn't even beat Denis Lebedev for fuck's sake, 10 years ago he would have butchered him. He'd probably make a decent trainer, why not go that route?
Yeah I agree. If he can get used to it, he would surely make a good trainer. I was half kidding but kind of thinking most of the damage is done, and he has good enough smarts and defense to not take a bad beating, but I guess yeah the longer he goes in the more likely a bad beating is going to be, plus the paydays are only going to get smaller.
