I’d pick Munguia without hesitation, Berlanga sucks big time. Munguia isn’t great but he has heart, some power and is more active.

I could envision a scenario where Munguia-Berlanga turns into Margarito-Cintron 1. But we have to see, because Munguia doesn't have the chin Margarito had, nor is his ring IQ as high as Margarito's.

"Get me that punching bag" - Berlanga asking Oscar for Munguia.

I sure I know I'm ROOTING for Munguia.

Why is fishnets hesitant? It's the best payday/most winnable fight. Same platform

Fully agreed. Plus, an opportunity to beat Fast Eddie. I think Goldie is just trying to be spiteful because A. He doesn't like Eddie, and B. He's mad that Berlanga signed with Eddie over him.

Do you think DAZN executives give Goldie a call and tell him to quit fucking around and to work Eddie to make the fight?

De La Cokehead says that talks are underway for Benavidez-Munguia.

Edit: Both sides have interest. No talks underway yet.

Looks like he's ready to cash out Munguia I guess.

    Re-read. BENAVIDEZ-Munguia, not Berlanga-Munguia.

Munguia hasn't a prayer against Benavidez.

Benevidez's true capabilities have been called into question, especially after his fight with Plant. It's worth noting that even Canelo, who isn't known for his knockout power, managed to stop Plant. This leads me to believe that Benevidez might not be the boxing monster that many believe him to be.

I don't think Benavidez is a great fighter, but I think he'd be too much for faded Nelo.

He'll look like a prime Duran against Munguia.

    Against Morrell? Not so much.

I think prime Canelo beats Benavidez. But I doubt he beats him now. He waited too long to fight him.

Canelo not known for his knock out power??? While he may not be Mike Tyson in the power department, I never saw anyone argue he does not have 1 punch ko capabilities

Yeah, Canelo is a very very solid puncher

I think he was a stronger puncher at 160. At 168 he is not a big puncher imo.

"Big puncher" is a relative term.

Canelo doesn't have Jackson, Hearns, McClellan type power. He doesn't even have Trinidad type power. Imagine Trinidad teeing off on Angulo for 11 rounds and stopping him on his feet. It just wouldn't happen.

Canelo's a good puncher though. More explosive than Benavidez with single shots. But now that he's getting older, he's losing velocity, so his punches don't have the same snap. And that "snap" is where his power came from.

I found Canelo boring when he was on all the Floyd undercards back in the day. He was obviously good and usually won easily but he seemed a good, solid puncher rather than a one-hitter quitter guy. It definitely changed though, and not because of steroids (although I don't doubt he dabbled), but his technique got so much better.

Canelo never impressed me. I thought he was solid, but not special. “Straight up and down, no special effects “ Floyd Mayweather voice.

Hes short. He’s quick, but not super quick. He’s powerful, but not a vicious KO puncher. Hand speed is ok. Foot work average. Stamina is average.

A good fighter that gets called an all time great.

Yeah, that's about fair imo. A tier above Cotto, but that's as high as I'd go.

Agreed, ATG but definitely in the lower tier. I kind of like Canelo but it reflects poorly on this era imo that he was considered the top p4p for so many years

Munguia's co-promoter says that Munguia has to get A-Side money against Berlanga AND Benavidez.

Well, he is the A-Side versus Berlanga, but sure AF not against Benavidez.

Benavidez is a nobody in the grand scheme of things. Munguia is on par with him as a draw. 55/45 split at best for perico boy

    GTFOH!

Benavidez is a Mayweather-level celebrity compared to Munguia.

Benavidez-Plant did good PPV numbers, and a decent amount of casuals know Bena's name. His popularity has grown.

NOOOOOOOO one outside of us hardcores knows who Munguia is.

    55/45 my ass!

    More like 75/25 Bena.
