Why would you think that? I was thinking of going to the card, but my friend's wife had a baby a week ago and he was out. Like you said though, Arlovski's chin is the worst of any contact sport I have ever seen. Thanks for the image. That is why I didn't buy the card. Arlovski's chin I figured would give out in 10 seconds. He lasted about 200 times longer than I thought.

This is a perfect Fedor fight. It actually reminds me of the Randleman fight. Just when you think you have the upperhand on Fedor, he is so calm, so patient, and is waiting for you ,whether it be Randleman or Arlovski, to make that mistake and give him the oppurtunity. And its over. I think guys are trying to make it out that AA just made a mistake, but that is just it. You can't make a mistake against Fedor.:kidcool:

fedor looked genuinely rattled in there. his hands were all wide, he would throw a punch and then jump backwards, scared. getting caught with those kicks. then this. mma's a strange beast.

It looked like my prediction was coming true for a second there.Fedor had trouble with Andre's speed and standup technique but Arlovski got careless and got caught.

There's no room for error when fighting Fedor,he's just too good.

I saw Andrei jump for the flying knee and heard "Oooh!" and then it was over. I figured that Fedor must have caught him as shortly after you saw Arlovski on the matt face down. Seemed like the only logical possibility but i didn't catch it until the replay either.

Priceless expression on Arlovski's face. Apparently he, like us, never saw the punch either.

Agreed. The announcing was horrible, especially that guy who sounded like he had lost his voice.

I hate when any sports annoucing team hires somebody just because they have some enthusiasm as if knowledge of the sport they are covering isn't really that important.

Every time he was in the dressing room we hard to hear how "intense" and "crazy" it was back there.

At point he was describing what they were working on and said "They are working on kinds of punches, straight punches, wide punches RABBIT punches"

Obviously he didn't know any of the terms he was spouting. But hey, who cares? The guys has ENTHUSIASM!!

So what is Dana gonna say now? Fedor is sytemsatically taking out all of the UFC heavyweight champions, and in brutal fashion. Maybe this will cause Dana to give in? Hopefully.

All in all it was a great fight.

Bottom line, Andrei's striking looked good as he seemed to be frustrating Fedor with his stand up. But, as we all know, Fedor is the MASTER of adjustment and figuring out his opponent. I knew that Fedor could take Andrei's best shot but Andrei couldn't, and thats how it played out. The window of opportunity to capitalize on Fedor, as small as it is, closes up faster than most think. Andrei learned that the hard way.

Me and my buddy with Fedor's WAMMA belt. I had to kick Fedors ass to get it. :dunno:

I don't think he came in with a real gameplan for Arlovski. He started out coming forward tryin to engage with Andre but he was to quick with his hands and on his feet for that, so Fedor switched it up and started using feints, stepin in and out.so he wouldn't get countered by Arlovski. When Fedor gets hurt or in trouble,he throws back and Andre paid a stiff price for overlooking that.

Arlovski looked so relaxed when he was lying facedown on the ground. The look on his face says it all.

He'll just ignore it and pretend it doesn't mean much now that he has Lesnar.

You better believe Dana is praying Mir doesn't beat Brock again. It would be hilarious if Mir won, signed to fight Fedor and also got thrashed in the first round.

I think there's even less of a chance of Fedor fighting in the UFC now, at least in the near future. Fedor isn't gonna back off on his demands, and neither is White. Fedor doesn't need the UFC, and the UFC doesn't need Fedor.

So it looks like Fedor is all set to face Barnett at the next Affliction, if there is one. But after he beats Barnett, who's left? Is there a non UFC Heavyweight out there that you'd pay to see fight Fedor? Off of the top of my head, I can't think of any.

Of course, that doesn't matter to Fedor. He can just go back to fighting the Zulu's, Hong Man Choi's and Mark Hunts of the world, and make a lot of money doing it. Hell, his name recognition in Russia and Japan alone could probably be enough to run a succesful MMA group if he ever decided to start one up on his own.

One thing can't be denied though, and right now, I just don't see anyone that can stop Fedor. He's just too good.

I don't know his contract, but I do know that the UFC puts a clause in their contracts that keeps fighters from jumping if they're champion even if their contract expires. It would be just like the Couture fiasco all over again.

Although I'm happy Fedor won, he seemed to have slipped. Arlovski was winning until Fedor unleashed that bomb; however, that's like saying I was beating your ass until you dropped that grenade on me.

I knew Andre would be dangerous until the end...which came and went in the first.

Barnett is even more dangerous because he's dangerous on the ground which is where he'll try to keep the fight.

Some of the morons at sherdog thought it was a lucky punch. Arlovksi threw the same knee in his last fight. Fedor saw him run in with his hands down and capitalized.
