Let's not forget after the first Morales fight pacquiao and that fat pinoy that works his corner were crying after the decision

I'm just glad Manny had decent socks to avoid the blisters this time. That eliminates one excuse :bears:

funny because everyone wants a third fight even at 135 but your boy don't want it. He told marquez no in the ring. :warning:

Buboy and Manny are child hood friends. They know how much Manny's career means to a nation of people.

Marquez has never had that kind of following or appeal.

Also why does Marquez deserve a third fight? He had two chances and couldn't even put Pacquiao on the canvas one time, while he visited it four times himself. Their business is over.

so unless you knock somebody down you can't fight him again?

even with the knockdowns he made Manny look like an amateur. hell I was expecing all those Ray Robinson skills he picked up over the years and Marquez made him one dimensional again. Even after tha knockdown.

bottom line they were both close fights and people wanna see the third fight. Even Roach admits JMM is the hardest style to deal with.

I let him have that Toney collection. Which was a good Idea since I eventually bought a Toney collection for $60 :bears:

 You were done!, you were done! you got rolled!!!.

The funny thing is, Jose was so impressed by Saad's kind hearted will for donation, that he eventually sent the DVD out to him for FREE, and Jose donated what Saad bid himself, plus your measly $60, to the victim's family.

I tellya, there's no shame in it Latinking, you got owned, it happens to everyone. Man up and admit it, when Saad clocked on that last figure, and you suddenly dissapeared, all of Boxingtime felt the tension of your submission. :crafty:

I thought both fights were pretty close, but I don't want to see them fight again. Manny got fucked on the first fight and imo deserved the 2nd. I don't find JMM's style to be particularly fun to watch and I'd much rather see Pacq move on and fight new challenges.

JMM can move on, too. He can chase John or go after Katsidis or Guzman. Whatever.

What will a 3rd fight prove? That JMM can beat Pacq? Obviously, he can. But, he had two chances and didn't. A 3rd win for Pacq won't accomplish anything for him on a career level and there is a lot easier money out there against opponents who will make for more watchable fights.

Meanwhile, JMM and his bitch crew can cry about what might have been...

More harsh than I would've put it, but that's basically what it comes down to.

I mean what happens if Marquez loses the third fight closely again? How many times does Pacquiao have to beat Marquez to prove he's just better?

Technically, Pacquiao should be 2-0 against JMM if it weren't for a scoring error in the first fight. Marquez should wipe up his tears and move on.

pacquaio has yet to prove to me he is better than marquez.

I also disagree that there are opponents that would make for more compelling action fights. aside from the first two morales fights there have not been any pacquaio fights as exciting as the ones against marquez. I don't care to see pacquaio fight at higher weights where he will either face marginally talented foes, or otherwise be outmatched.

I really think it would be better/more entertaining to let these guys fight some other guys then have another fight in a year or 2

Errm, according to your indispensable 'Lederman Scoring System', controlling distance would come under (esp if you are essentially a counter puncher like JMM) and 'Ring Generalship'.

And, yes, I confess, I generally tend to score rounds to fighters who land punches on their opponent. Is this unusual?

Yes, in some stages of the fight he did land better punches. I awarded those rounds to him. In the rounds were Manny was wincing with pain or back pedaling out of the range of shots coming in, he was not landing the better punches and so those rounds belong to JMM.

Having gauged the overall reaction of people here and accepting that I was drunk when I watched the first fight, I took the time to re-watch the fight and score as accurately and as objectively as possible. The two very close rounds (1 and 7) I gave to JMM and Manny respectively, though I accept that either could have gone either way. I note that not even you, the primary Manny nuthugger in this and other related threads, gave Manny the 7th, so there goes any notion that I was 'looking for reasons to give JMM rounds'.

A round either way is fine, and I have retracted my initial view that JMM won by two or three rounds, which on second viewing was incorrect. You, on the other hand, persist with the absurd idea that Manny won seven rounds of that fight, including the twelfth which only you and Max Kellerman seemed to think was the case.

This makes you the imbecile on this occasion.

I don't think he's better either.I think there evenly matched though. All there fights will be close and hard to score.I think Manny's going to let Juan wait it out for awhile(or maybe forever),lets not forget manny is the one who gave Marquez a chance in the spotlight when the other top fighter at 126/130 wouldn't.Manny doesnt owe Marquez anything

Exactly. Manny gave Marquez two of the biggest purses of his career. JMM is a good fighter but has come up short, not once, but twice!

There's a long line of fighters who would give their left hand away to face Manny ONCE.

    Pacquiao owes Marquez nothing.

JMM didn't get the decisions, but MANY feel he won the fights.

    Just look at the boards.

Which means that there is a division of opinion on who won both fights.

They don't need to fight again.

They're basically neck and neck and it's paper-thin either way. If they fought 10 times all 10 would be razor-thin, debatable decisions.

It's 0-1-1 and that's officially how it will stay...with alot of on-going debate about "who really won." But it's about as even as things get between the two.

That said, if they DO fight again, I'll certainly watch. I thought both fights were very, very good.

    Peace.

After the RE, REED Thought to Himself, "the MORE these Cats Fight, the HARDER it Becomes to Determine just WHO the BETTER Fighter is" ...

& As U Alluded to, 10 Fights Probably WOULDN'T PINPOINT the Superior Fighter Either...

Marquez is BETTER than REED Gave him Credit for, but that's ALL REED has "Learned" from Watching Pac-Marquez Fight Twice...

    Yup.

It's fascinating, because their styles are diametrically opposed.

Exactly. Their fights are like chessmatches, but in not in a tedious way. They both have their own styles and it's great watching them try to leverage them against each other.
