Just for the record....it's entirely possible that Joshua could beat Fury, on a simple chin-to-power formula, it could happen.

The reason I think it's unlikely is because Fury was always a better boxer and because Joshua is in a bad place now until he gets a real injection of confidence.

I honestly have never seen such a ZETA looking heavyweight after a defeat.

Persoon set to lodge complaint over Taylor loss

Delfine Persoon will lodge an official complaint over the scoring in her loss to Katie Taylor for the undisputed lightweight world title last Saturday night.

The bout was scored 95-95, 96-94, 96-94 in favour of Taylor but may believed the outcome could have been very different.

"Yes we will file a claim," Persoon said to Belgian publication Sudpresse. "Even if it will probably not help anything.

"We were prevented from writing a beautiful page in the history of boxing. Today everyone has seen and everyone knows that is a shame.

"But who will remember it again in a few years, reading my record where this championship will appear in the column of my defeats? In my eyes it’s not a defeat.

"What we will do now is of course make complaint.

"But without much hope because the weight of the Belgian boxing does not weigh heavy in the instances.

"But with my coach we will quietly analyse this fight sequence by sequence, to have all the arguments to present an unassailable file."

Well said, I've never really stopped to think about it, but the Lomachenko path makes more sense ultimately. I mean, look at the likes of the Cuban that beat Joshua, or even most of the guys he fought in the Olympics, then compare that to the journeymen and no hopers that littered most of his pro career. They were nowhere near as good as an elite amateur. A huge backward step, doesn't really make sense does it?

To be fair, Lomachenko was thrown into the deep end too much in only his 2nd pro fight, but somewhere between the two would be ideal.

And you know, you are very correct on making him look better and more improved than he was. I remember one time Hut Hut - whose opinion is usually on point and agreed with - was raving about how improved Joshua was. So I watched his most recent couple of fights and my first thoughts were "Really? Looks basically the same to me". But because he was so enthusiastic and sure about it, I started to believe it too :D

Turns out he's barely improved at all. He's still just a big fucking robot, with nothing more than size, power, and some basic fundamentals.

For as much shit as we all gave Khan back in the day, calling him a "boxbot" etc, I think Joshua is arguably more of a boxbot than Khan ever was. I mean he literally looks and fights like a big boxing robot.

It does. Not sure how many of you have any basic boxing experience, but it's something that's easier said than done. All it takes is one lapse in concentration or one wrong move etc.

Just backpelling and going into survival mode? That's not hard at all. But backpeddling all the while controlling your opponent and outlanding him, yeah that takes skill and discipline.

I guess there's a reason why there's only been a handful of guys in boxing history who have been really successful at that style.

Ruiz has a pretty nice jab to the body. It helped to beat the fight out of Joshua.

BTW I showed the fight to my girlfriend yesterday, and towards the end of the previous round she said "He's going to quit". I guess it was somehow obvious even to a very casual fan that he was done and Ruiz had beaten the fight out of him.

To be fair, I was also one of the people who said he'd improved and I stand by it. I think there was a noticeable difference between am-AJ and pro-AJ. I thought Joshua looked downright awful as an amateur, jab and a right hand, sloppy, upright. He was putting punches together much better in the pros, the uppercut against Wlad for example was a beautiful shot. The problem was the progression just kind of stopped, and defensively he's just wank.

The thing is Lomachenko's people knew if it didn't work the first time, it would work the second time, because they knew their man could fight.

Eddie Hearn knew something was up, knew he was selling a lemon, so had to sell the public hard and fast.

It's always the same in life, when you look back on the fulness of something, you see how true or how false it was.

Kevin Johnson....had utterly frustrated Vitali.....but was finished when he was imported for Joshua, even then they hit him when he was down. Charles Martin....a total screwball state of affairs, he practically won a lottery to get the bet that Joshua took off him. Dillian Whyte and Joe Parker......both proving the other other to be as bad as the first. Then Povetkin and Wlad, both totally finished.....both either dropped him or busted him up some way. He lucked out with Wlad, a one in a million shot.

Now this.......I hate to say it but he looks the Primo Carnera of his era. He ended up as he went on, a farce that began in a hotbed of MultiCulti Technicolor Enforced Clapping in Stratford in 2012 has now ended as it should have. The free market of real boxing has gobbled up the subsidized Joshua and exposed him as an overpriced, under-researched stock that was pumped up and found out by astute traders.

yeah., sure, who released the information to Gareth A Davies.

I never liked Gareth A Davies.......too much of a fucking vassal for the promoters and the money men.

Now he's acting as an outlet for a story.

If he had a problem why didn't surface in the first 2 rounds and up to the knockdown......why did it only surface when he dropped the guy and the guy hit him back??

Jesus....read this........When fat helps you fight

Imagine becoming heavyweight champion of the world - by knocking out a fighter who's never been knocked out - and still having to worry about people calling you fat.

Andy Ruiz Jr's astonishing win against Anthony Joshua looks like a victory for anyone who's been mocked for carrying a bit too much timber.

To the untrained eye, the Mexican certainly looked hopelessly out of shape - with slo-mo replays merely highlighting his wobbly torso.

But Newsbeat's been finding out how all that fat might actually help you fight.

I'm guessing AJ will sell out a stadium for the rematch. If he loses however is he still selling out anything in England??

    Selling his own self out.

Trust me, if this fight comes off, and I don't think it does, then they will flock to see him. It's mad.

A rematch sells out Wembley for sure. It's massive. People want to see how AJ responds. If Joshua loses again then his stock will really take a hit.

There's so much talk now about Joshua not being right before the fight...that he was ill, hurt and dropped in sparring, had food poisoning, didn't want the fight but Hearn told him he had to take it..so much bullshit in all honesty. I've heard no excuses at all.

I’ve heard tales of a “concussion” on Facebook and Instagram but it’s the first time I heard a mention of it.

Even if This is True, Hearn Should've Taken the Financial and PR "L" of Cancelling the Card Altogether...

Ultimately, Shit Happens...MSG Would Be Royally Pissed, Undoubtedly, but that's BETTER Than Your Prized Possession Entering the Ring Anyway and Getting Consumed, Digested and Shitted Out by a Fat Fighter...

The OPTICS of Joshua-Ruiz Will Linger FOREVER...

Maybe THIS is Why Joshua's Ol' Man Tried to Get @ Hearn Immediately After the Fight???...

    fuck MSG.

DAZN would have been furious if the fight fell out. They were obviously banking on this guy when they invested all that money. As it stands now i have heard the investors arent pleased with their ROI thus far

Even Then, if You KNOW Your Fighter just Got Knocked the Fuck Out in Sparring, You DON'T Put Him in the Ring Right Away...

That's What You Do w/an OPPONENT Who NEEDS the Payday, Not a Guy You're Trying to Build into a GLOBAL Icon...REED Bets DAZN is MORE Pissed Joshua Got his Ass Whupped Than They Would've Been Had He NOT Fought @ All...

Joshua is Obviously What Drew DAZN to Hearn in the 1st Place and Yeah, One of the Asian Investors Wasn't Happy They've Generated 1/4th the Subscriptions ESPN+ Has...DAZN's U.S. Launch Preceded Joshua-Povetkin Last September, if REED's Not Mistaken...ASSuming There's an Immediate RE, DAZN Won't Last 2 Full Years in America, if Joshua Loses to Ruiz Again...
