I too will be rooting for Corey as I never cared much for JT's mediocre skills and talent level. I learned to hate him even more after realizing his disgraceful opposition selection which doesn't get nearly the criticism as it should. Whenever someone mentions Taylor's name others who hear it should instantly dismiss him. Spinks can be a cancer on the eyes but since he's given little chance to win it will make it that much sweeter when he does. Worry not Spinks fans, because Corey will expose the flaws in JT's skill or lack thereof.

Some guys in here must be really brain damaged... so Bernard Hopkins the best middleweight ever and future hall of famer can't beat Taylor decisively let alone school him, but Cory fucking Stinks will...

First the people that thought DLH won now this... that forum is a bad joke these days...

I agree I'm also rooting for Cory! Taylor has shown no heart ducking and dodging good opponents. I hope Cory beats him!

Hopkins is going down as an all time great regardless. Even if Taylor loses, at this point it has NO affect on B-Hop's legacy. 20 years from now none will even care, or remember about the Hopkins-Taylor fights because they were so terrible. People will give B-Hop a pass for losing cause he was 40 years old, and he won both fights anyway, just not to the blind ass judges.

I hope Spinks wins. I think he has a lot better shot then a lot of people are given him.

I really wouldn't be surprised if Spinks pulls something off here. He's tricky and hard to hit. And JT didn't look right against Ouma. Something is definitely off. Logic tells us Taylor via KO but logic also told us that very same thing when JT fought Ouma.

I think Spinks will make Taylor look bad one way or another and I hope he wins.

Just when I think everyone on this site knows boxings most basic rule, I have to come on here and remind another pea brained poster that styles make fights. JT's crappy style just gives Hops trouble, just because an average fighter beats a great fighter doesn't make the average fighter great, nor does it make every fighter who beats that average fighter great either. That's a little boxing info for you.

REED is Also Pulling for Spinks, for the Same Reason as Most...

    Taylor's Opposition...

When U ADD Gift Decisions/Draws to a SHITTY Resume,U DESERVE to Lose to a Guy like Spinks...

Along w/Being a SOUTHPAW,Spinks is Fairly ATHLETIC & VERY Hard to Hit...

w/Taylor's TERRIBLE Footwork,he's NOT Gonna B Able to Corner Cory OR Cut the Ring Off Effectively...

This is a VERY BAD Matchup for Taylor, but it'll Serve his Ass Right to FINALLY Lose...& to a MUCH Smaller Man,@ that...

    Spinks

I have always thought Cory was a terrific boxer going all the way back to when he was National Amateur Champion.
I would love to see him pull it off, but I like Jermain as a fighter as well.

If Spinks beats Jermain hes the linear champ at 160. Only Floyd can be hated for being a blown up 135lber and fighting the linear champ at 160.

If Spinks beats Jermain...then Mayweather is the luckiest motherfucker around...first Bumdomir is the linear champion @147....then Stinks @160...anyone can move up and beat those two...

It just shows how much Margorito fucked up. He had long enough to become a mandotory challenger at 147 but decided to keep his WBOgus title instead. Baldomir got himself in a posistion for a shot and took his chance when it came.

    Toss Up

Both are great, one is a great boxer and the other is a great puncher.
I feel Spinks has what it takes to box Jermain and get a close split. Jermain on the other hand has the power to either end the fight early by KO or take the fight outta Spinks to where he will win by unanimous, but it all depends on if and how early Spinks taste the power of jermaine...shout out to both of em doe...we were in the amateurs together...me and Jermaine went to fight in Dublin, Ireland back in 99..we did our thang!! Me and Cory fought in his hometown at the Nationals..We both looked good, and I won the best fighter of the tournament by the skin on my teeth!!...

I am rooting for Spinks. I am not a big fan but I can apreciate a skilled fighter.

But mostly because Spinks is doing what most boxers fail to do which is take chances. FAns always bitch about most boxers dont' take chances and here is a guy who has no business fighting at 160. Also the more I watch TAylor the less I like him.

For Taylor's sake he better KO Spinks. Cause even a W by decision should be considered a loss for him. I guess Emanuel will say spinks just had the style to give him problems. Yeah I guess lately everyone has had the style to give him problems.

    ....

Well, a guy like Spinks has no choice but to take chances if he wants to get any paydays. Yeah the guy has some skills but the holding and running suck. I can see why someone can like a counterpuncher like JMM, but Spinks is a disgusting fighter to me. I hate his slap, hold and run style.

People who think Cory Stinks is very skilled should watch Ice Skating. He is a "24 fitness tae bo" fighter. Many fighters could fight like he does, but don't because they have honor and dignity. Stinks is a disgrace to the sport, a disgrace to fighters. I find it hilarious anyone defends his stinky ass. He is so boring Showtime refused to air his last fight. That is all you need to know.

I think calling either great is a bit much, especially in JT's case. Great puncher my ass, a great puncher would have KO'd Ouma. What he is though, is a great bullshit artist.

I wish JT had been around when guys like Vargas and Reid thought they were clever in thinking they could pick on a (so called) blown up welterweight named Trinidad. I wish Tito were around so JT could try that one because he doesn't deserve to merely get pitty patted to a decision loss, he deserves a career ending beating.

  If you think JT would have beaten Trinidad. I mean, that's just ridiculous.

If Tito comes out of retirement tomorrow to fight JT, I'd pick Tito in a win by TKO or KO.

I will never, and I repeat NEVER root for Cory Spinks!! He is probably the most boring fighter I've ever seen. What's worse, if he beats Taylor we will get his traditional emotional breakdown after the fight where he's crying uncontrollably in the center of the ring, (sobs),"I am,.....a maaan! I aahhhmm a mmmaan!(sobs)".

If one emoticon sums up Cory Spinks its.....:slap:

Can someone please get this guy out of boxing?

Taylor has fought some juniour middleweights but at least he holds two wins over Hopkins and a win over Wright. Much more that Spinks has ever done. I'd rather Spinks suffer the setback than Taylor who's been in there with the best and isn't as boring.

it's a no-win situation for boxing. if Taylor wins, and let's say he wins impressively, he'll be over-rated as hell for having beaten yet another welter-weight (is it possible he might actually knock his guy out this time?).

if Spinks wins, we'll have a boring ass DK fighter as champion, he won't fight Pavlik, and he'll next be seen on Showtime fighting some guy nobody's heard of.

now, if Taylor wins unimpressively, it means we'll have sat through 12 boring as hell rounds.

and btw, the only way Spinks wins is through boredom.

crappy match-up. DiBella should be ashamed of himself for making it. he no longer has any credibility to say anything. he's just another punk ass promoter now. and one of the worst as far as match-making.

Stinks has zero chance to win this fight. This fight sorta reminds me of Terry Norris vs. Meldrick Taylor, except I doubt it will end in a quick knockout.
