Pundit airtime-fill hot air. As many fighters were made better from the motivation of their first defeat. More than were effected either way came back exactly the same fighter because the confidence fairy doesn't actually mean shit, for 99% of guys.
You don't think a long, unbeaten run gives fighters a confidence which adds something to their game? Fighters usually look as good after defeats as before them? MTF
My point is saying Joe didn't need a super 6 to prove he was better than.......Sven Ottke, doesn't really say much for him.
Fighters often bounce back after being outpointed, yes. Kessler was fine, he looked fine between Calzaghe and Ward.
Did you watch his fight with Sartison, immediately after the Calzaghe fight? Kessler looked like absolute horseshit. He then took nearly a year off... MTF
Right here. Hopkins and RJJ are a level above Ward. At least a level above. They also both hit hard. Ward punches like a girl. After they both put calzaghe down, they proceeded to lose to Joe. So would Ward. MTF
Actually, no, he lost to Ward first. Then he beat Froch, an overachieving, gusty fighting farmer, by wafer thin decision, at home, in a fight which injured him enough many thought he would have to retire. MTF :bears:
If this is a reference to the showtime 2002 offer Hopkins received, I believe that was actually mooted for Cardiff.
You brought up RJJ in the context of Joe's performance against him and in that post said he was a level above Ward.
