Really interesting and plausible pick, even though I disagree big time.

What I have been wondering a lot lately is that we see the results of fights as more absolute than the results of other sports.

It would indeed seem that if Joshua had no answer for Ruiz up close, he can't cope with him now, either. Yet in basketball we think that even though one team destroys the other from under the basket in game 1, game 2 can be totally different because of better conditioning, better tactics or whatever.

I'm thinking that whatever changes from the first fight, it would seem to benefit Joshua, for Ruiz to win he would need a similar bout than the first one was. Thus, I find Joshua's win as the more likely

Good shit. I would love to hear some hidden cheap shots at fightbeat members too. Shit only we would get, but still not affecting the content.

Ruiz seems like a good guy, and he is a talented fighter.
And I know that no matter how hard he trains,..he just has that body that will always look soft and flabby.
But for him to come into this rematch that much heavier than before is a complete lack of professionalism imo.
    Hope he gets battered

    LOL

Imagine you were just going through shit videos on youtube, totally random stuff, and then you came across a video and you are just listening.........and it suddenly dawns...."Hey that guy is talking about US"

That actually happened in real life with the DeCavalcante Family in New Jersey who were watching The Sopranos and it suddenly dawned on them that the show was basically based on them.

FBI wires had one of them on the phone saying "Dat Spranno shit, is dat supposed to be us?"

Remember we said this before the first fight too.

    Sort of "Nice guy...but...."

And Ruiz played the nice guy routine down to a tee in the build up to the first fight.

Look, Joshua should beat him. He was beating him right up to being hit with the kryptonite the first time. He seemed to come in the ring dry and spacey.

It should really by now be all set up for Joshua to win.

I can see him win by decision......he won't DARE try to trade if he gets Ruiz hurt.

Joshua will simply box, hold, run, box, ...he will do whatever he needs to get this job done.

    400lbs is fucking heavy.

I got up to 277 and I was functioning, and able to work, and proceed......but it was limiting. I am just under 5'10".

400lbs is damn heavy and Ruiz is what, about 6'2"?

I know he has muscles like turnips and that helps but he could just shave off some of that timber and be a better athlete.

    Nobody really knows.

Funny isn't it...........when Miller got injured who would have thought that such intrigue and cloak-and-dagger stuff would have ensued.

It should have been the blowing out of a fat happy kid.

Instead it's turned into a murky saga played out in despotic Saudi Arabia.

Like Chuck Berry said............you never can tell.

Ruiz Says the Weigh-In was Later in the Day than he Expected, So He Had a Full Breakfast and a Full Lunch Prior....In Addition to Weighing In Fully Clothed...

REED Honestly Doesn't See it Being Much of a Factor Unless Joshua Manages to Drag This Into the 10th, 11th, 12th Rounds...

Ruiz doesn't run around either. But I wonder will he not be so heavy that the little half-step he needs to do when he unloads his hands will be a half-step too slow.

It's not stamina I am concerned about.....it's speed in those momentary situations.

Everyone keeps mentioning these first two rounds as if Joshua was well in control in the first fight, he wasn't. He may have nicked them but there'd be no arguments if it had been scored 2-0 Ruiz either. Neither guy was doing much at all, Joshua was trying to keep it long and he looked awkward and ineffective doing it. I've heard a lot of people say all AJ needs to do to win is use his reach and try to nick it on points but I saw nothing to suggest he's capable of doing that.

Well.......he wasn't getting burst to bits either, I suppose. lol

Yeah, All of Ruiz's Speed/Flexibility is in His Hands...His Footork Has Never Been Terribly Quick, But Neither Is Joshua's...

Yep, No Punches of Consequence were Landed in the 1st 2 Rounds...

The MONEY Guy is Typically Awarded Those Rounds & REED has No Qualms if Anyone Scored Them for Joshua But NEITHER Man Did Much of Anything, Like you Said...

It Certainly Wasn't a "Blueprint" for Beating Ruiz, or Anything Close...

This Filip Hrgovic guy, 9-0 (7) and faces Eric Molina now, should be promising. He is an Olympic bronze medalist and #13 according to Boxrec

My pick was Ruiz but I have a feeling it may be a Buster Douglas thing...scores a big upset and doesn’t train hard for his next match, happy to collect the big payday.

Hrgovic looks stylistically bit like young Vitaly. Molina seemed to be taking a dive but midway through the second round he realized he can land easily and this might turn interesting

... just as I type that, Molina goes down after thumbing

What looked like it might turn into something ended in a farce. Molina ducked so that Hrgovic's punches landed in his neck all the time and he got knocked out with a rabbit punch.

Hrgovic seems strong but is too easy to hit

    Whyte vs Wach beginning.

Wach has nothing except size and great chin. Whyte will have difficulties finishing him off and he weighs over 270, thus it will be a dreary fight

Slow, ponderous and lethargic showing by Whyte.

    Next, Hunter will finish Povetkin

If Wach could punch he would have won. Whyte was exhausted.

For sure, if Wach had power he'd be an excellent fighter with that chin.

Must be noted though that Whyte came to the fight in three weeks notice and obviously hadn't trained since he was supposed to be banned
