AJ comes out furious, Wlad says fuck it and falls down. Wlad hurt, but does get up right away. Face marked up. But the fury drains AJ's stamina and he never recovered for the last 2 minutes.

R6 and AJ looks better, but so does Wlad. Wlad looks calm. Lands a fucking bomb right. AJ looks done, but gets up and looks okay. 90 secs left. Wlad much smarter follow up. Which means he didn't push it. AJ recovered some, but that mouth still open and his chances the rest of the fight figure to take place in the first 45 secs of each round. Wlad threw some shit, but overall he figures to win now.

R7 AJ takes the round off. Smart. Wlad won it clearly, but did not hurt him or anything. I doubt it was enough for AJ to get his gas back, but at least he didn't go in the wrong direction.

R8 Wlad round, but AJ looking better gas wise. Wlad fighting smart. Both missed a couple of bombs, but Wlad landed a lot more jabs and probably a better power shot.

R9 Wlad comes out fast, but AJ not tired so no problem. Wlad actually bouncing and looks good. AJ landed his best punch in a long time with 1:10 to go. Another nice right by AJ with 30 to go. Wlad takes well, but gets mouse under eye. Probably an AJ round, but both look fine now.

In R8, Ranallo made a good observation...very little clinching in this fight. Some, but minimal.

R10 AJ comes out fast and throws some stupid shit that Wlad defends easily. AJ won the middle, Wlad wins the end and Wlad landed the best shot of the round with 5 seconds to go. I'd give Wlad the round, but arguable.

R11 AJ lands a nice couple to begin and make up for the end of last round. Then he keeps pressing and lands a surprising uppercut. Wlad still looks okay, but then AJ lands another big punch follows up and Wlad goes down. Gets up. AJ smarter this time. Gets him again after a short while. Wlad down. Up again. Wlad wasted and just not holding for any of this. Wlad down again. Fight over.

Great fight all in all. Joshua showed he can weather the storm against a shot Klitschko.

I didn't think Wlad looked shot. I thought he looked good. AJ made some stupid mistakes, showed he's not an unbeatable monster, but damn he showed his mettle and no doubt he learned a shitload here. I'd always rather learn winning than losing. I did not think a 250 lb guy would get his gas back after shooting the load and looking so terrible. I don't blame Wlad for not pushing it more because I thought that was the smarter, better move. In hindsight, maybe Wlad should have tried harder to get rid of him, but I'm not going to say that.

I didn't see any evidence of klit being shot either - light on his feet, quick on the trigger- but you have to surmise that a 41 year old fighter isn't all he was a few years back

quick on the trigger is a bit much i guess. But yeah he didn't look too bad. His finishing hasn't been very polished lately and he really almost fell down with some of the left hooks when he tried to end it after the right hand knock down.

Yeah, I'd agree that Wlad isn't at his peak at 41 and really no fighters are immune from PED speculation when they are doing things that are so unlikely.

I'm reading people rating this as one of the best Heavyweight fights ever?

I didn't see it so... :dunno:

Incredible fight. Massive, massive respect to Wlad, he was fantastic. AJ has A LOT to learn but damn he showed some heart to pull that out of the bag. Best fight I've seen in a long time.
