Let me get this straight...YOU bring up Pryor's name when speaking about Valero and yet when I point out the flaw of your thinking (meaning Pyor had a good career) it's not a realistic statement. This is a classic example as to why it's difficult to discuss things with you.
I haven't noticed much difference in Dawson since I first noticed him against Daniels. When did Mustafa join him? Your definition of 'good fighter' is incorrect. What you are saying is that Valero is a 'flawed' fighter because he lacks skills. Most would agree. But it's a lot harder to say he's not a good fighter when he's KO'd everyone he's been in with, including a few pretty decent fighters. Valero is good, he's just flawed right now.
I think Eddie came in couple months back now. Chad looked a lot better to me in form than he did the last two times, though. He was wide open to me, but has shored it up a lot.
Chad has progressed nicely since the first time I saw him fight against Joey Spina a few years back. The first improvement I noted was when he joined Birmingham. He's still a work in progress and it's good to see him getting better each time out regardless of who trains him.
Barrera's technical brilliance and skill was worth two drops of shit to Pacquiao's amateurish movements and abilities. Valero may be technically poor, but to say he's trash as a fighter is just incorrect. Because by that same definition (as you said) Aaron Pryor is trash as a fighter as well, as is Pacquiao, as are a host of others who sometimes used technical "flaws" to their advantage.
My bad. Not Spina...Efrain Garcia... Spina was on the undercard and that was the first time I saw both Spina and Dawson. Jason Estrada was also on the card and had a highlight reel KO over a bum...which says alot about how much of a bum that bum was.
The funny thing about Valero is that in sparring he has clearly shown he DOES possess the technical skills to be a very solid boxer-puncher. But for whatever reason that goes completely out the window when he fights. And he's gotten worse the farther into his career he's gotten. All that being said, power, relentlessness, high workrate, aggression, stamina and unorthodox angles can overcome alot of technical deficiencies and flaws. We've seen this time and time again. But he's going to have to address at least some of those issues when he begins taking on the sport's elite. Peace.
apparently that miracle worker mustaafa muhammad improved dawson enough so that he could beat the hell out of an overmatched middleweight club fighter. that 'fight' couldn't tell you a damn thing about what dawson has or doesn't have.
let me get this straight...an old man with zero professional fights would knock out a world boxing champion?? after admitting juan diaz could take him out nearly at will he could survive a round with edwin valero?? i respect karl as a poster but what a joke.
I didn't take that seriously...I just think Karl let his dislike of Valero's technique (or lack thereof) get the better of him.
who on earth would fight a man who could knock out world boxing champions in 1 round, for anything less than 1,000,000 dollars?? not me. :nono:
How can you respect Karl as a poster when he is such a retarded, delusional bastard and talks utter shit like this? Do you realize he also thinks he can KO Manny Pacquiao in a round? It's documented.
I think its a great in the era of internet we have a guy with real internuts. I think Karl could beat Pac. Karl may have to throw a fight to get Manny to take the fight but ill go with Karl by TKO.
On another message board we had a guy, who had no amateur experience, just heavy bag and he said he could beat Michalczewski and KO Ottke. He was a bit nevous about Dariusz power, but he sweared he could beat Ottke. So he went to one of these boxing shows at a fair. Got to give him credit, he posted the video of himself getting Ko´d in a minute. ::
