He is a golden boy in a sense -- olympic medalist, hometown advantage, undefeated. Even his earliest fights were televised.

Froch was the only fighter who backed up hurt in that fight, he was timed and hurt by a fast counter. Ward isn't as tricky as Dirrell but he's a harder man.

i think ward is more chinny than direll, even though he is harder. i can just see froch catching him with a sweet upper cut.

Ward will be ready for that punch since he got dropped with one before and Froch has a good one. He throws it from too far out though and Ward will make him pay with his left hand when he does. I think you're going to be shocked at the beating your boys going to get.

He is very skillful and slick, and a bit dirty too. i just dont think he is mentally ready for tough nights work with Froch, most fighter get weaker in the later stages of a fight. some how Froch gets stronger and usually does some of his best boxing in the second half of the fight.

Froch is a good fighter for sure I'm not saying he isn't. I just think Ward is superior and you will too after they fight.

    agREED...

EARLY in his Pro Career, you Could See Roy Jones' INFLUENCE All Over Andre Ward's Style...But just PRIOR to the Super 6 Tournament, Ward Started MORPHING into More of a Bernard Hopkins Manner of Fighting...

What it Means is that Ward is ULTRA Versatile...The ONLY Thing Andre Ward CAN'T Do in a Boxing Ring is Punch w/POWER...But Due to his HANDSPEED & ACCURACY, he's Able to Keep Guys HONEST, Despite his Lack of Pop...

You NEVER Say "Never" in Boxing, but REED just CAN'T See How Carl Froch WINS this Fight...REED is Expecting this Bout to Resemble the Early Rounds of Froch-Taylor, where Froch was Struggling MIGHTILY...Only Difference is, Ward is in BETTER Condition than Taylor & will B Able to ADJUST to Any Alterations Froch Makes...

Ward by Wiiiiiiiide UD is the Safe Pick, but Andre just MIGHT Even Get a Late Stoppage, if Froch Gets Desperate...

I like Froch and hate Ward but Froch will not win this. No chance unless it's a one-off shot.

Not true at all. Ward is most certainly not a bitch. Goossen may be a cunt of a man, but Ward is very, very good for the future of the sport (even if his fights get monotonous at times).

And his last fight was in SOUTHERN California. So ha! And this fight is in Atlantic City, where Froch just fought and had no problem getting a decision.

Froch winning would make for a good story only because nobody picked him to win and most figured he'd be the second one gone from the tournament right after Taylor.

That said, Ward didn't emerge as the frontrunner until humiliating Kessler. I don't like that he never had to leave the US (this being his first outside of Cali in the tournament) for any of his fights since nobody else even came close to enjoying similar luxury, but hometown never played a part in any of his fights.

I don't have a dog in the hunt for the finals. Don't really like or dislike either fighter. Froch had the toughest road to get where he is, so winning would cap the perfect Cinderella story. But I don't see Ward sleeping on this guy at all, and a motivated Ward pretty much runs the table against today's SMW's.

Exactly... many people share this opinion. Even for those who thought Froch won (and I have no problem with that argument), it was anything but easy

i have no issue with ward he seems an ok guy, i just hate his style of fighting and how he has had easy path all the way up to the final. He should of had a tough test against direll, but he got an easy buy threw to next round with out a hard fight. i just feel its froch destiny to win this, the crap he has had to go through for last 4 years.

Ward is not good for the future of the sport, no more than Wlad is.

Oh for fucks sake, Jake. California is that big that where you fight in it matters?

He wasn't fighting against Andre "Future of the Sport" Ward. He was fighting Glen "Road Warrior = Shit Management" Johnson. I have a feeling that the "future of the sport" will need protecting. It is , after all, the future.

...only because to beat Ward would mean his only loss would be a razor thin away-from-home loss to Kessler , leaving Froch with one of the best resumes in sport, which, would be good for both the future and the present of the sport, no?

Some guys just aren't the future of the sport as much as others, eh

Jake, I think he would have beaten Kessler clearly anywhere, but you can't be serious about the hometown advantage not being a factor.

Anywhere else Ward would have been called on sticking his head in kessler's mug all night, and excessive clinching etc.

Ward is definitely a hometown fighter, and has seemed reluctant to fight outside of California (he even said as much in an interview).

I hate Ward's stupid face and his ugly fighting style, but he CAN fight. He's crafty and dirty and just knows how to fight.

I'm rooting for Frock, and I think he'll make a decent fight of it, but Ward will probably win an 8 to 4 type decision.

America doesn't really have a future Marquee fighter, Floyd is basically finished, bar the Pacquaio fight, which doesn't seem to be materializing in any case. Ward can "Win" the Super 6 {Froch had KO'd Taylor and has also faced Dirrell and "beaten" him} and in doing so would be put anywhere in or around 4 on the pfp list, the usual procedure would apply, cover of Ring Magazine, that sort of shite. A few insults about Canada and Romanians would apply the final gloss. No way some old Jew from Nottingham will be allowed to fuck with "our" plans.

Well I think Nonito is currently the best P4P fighter in the world, but he's not managed or promoted well at all, and he's currently a bit too small to be that mainstream.

He needs to take some of Manny and Juan's magic shiny hair pills.
