Anybody else think Froch's gonna knock out Ward?

Kellerman is the excitable type. He does his job well, to be honest.

I bet he's jizzed his pants a few time during these ''Face offs.'' :l3:

Frock really is one for jibba jabba, he generally talks non stop, often about pretty mundane things like house renovation and hoovering.

He's confident in himself, but he doesn't come across as arrogant or anything, just confidence you can take to.

I admit I'm sometimes guilty of prejudging a fighter, or judging them too quickly but honestly I think what you see is what you get with most fighters after 20 fights or so.

How many fighters really change that much? They can a bit more experienced and polished, but that's about it generally.

Floyd has always been the same since early in his career really, so has Cotto, so has Morales, same with Oscar, Mosley etc etc.

Then you have guys like JM Lopez who seem to have gotten worse since earlier in their careers.

Pacquiao is someone that comes to mind who has improved significantly, but even he's not a great example as he was a beast after only 20 fights too.

It's just one fight so far. I'm not a big Broner fan, but I think he's a lot better than you give credit.

Ward didn't look like anything special until beating Kessler. Even in running the tables (so far) in the Super Six, people still call him a protected fighter.

    Slightly disagREED...

REED Thinks that 20th-30th Bout Range is THE MOST Telling Portion of a Fighters Career, ASSuming his Braintrust Isn't Merely PADDING his Record Still...By that Juncture, a Fighter SHOULD B Facing Guys that @ Least have a CHANCE of Beating him...

& 1nce he's Fought a Handful of Guys w/a REALISTIC Shot of Beating him, U KNOW what U Got...The Jury's Still OUT on Broner...Sure, he Probably LOST to Ponce, but that SCARE Could have a POSITIVE Impact on him...

TWIN Astutely Mentioned Andre Ward, who was Anything BUT Stellar in the Early Portion of his Career...He was Getting DROPPED & BADLY HURT by Nondescript Journeyman to the Point that REED Completely Wrote Ward Off...But Ward Took his Time, Got Acclimated & is Now a LEGIT Lb for Lb'der...

Actually that's a good point. I (and many others too) sometimes judge too much from just ONE fight, Kirkland is a great recent example actually.

You never know in boxing, you can have a bad night, or a bad stylistic matchup etc. Shouldn't judge too much I guess.

Thing is, though I haven't seen much of Broner, I haven't been impressed with him beyond the Ponce fight either, we'll see though, maybe he is better than I think.

Ward is a good example too. Really didn't look like much pre Super 6, but become evident immediately that he IS an elite fighter afterall.

    That's a fair point too.

I do believe there aren't many stylistic or MAJOR changes after 20 fights or so, but you're right, they DO start to get tested in that phase with normal matchmaking, so I guess that portion often makes or breaks them.

One thing to consider too when judging fighters I guess, is some do fight to level of opposition sometimes.

Calzaghe is the best example, and I think you'd have to include Ward in that group too.

I will pray to all the gods that Froch puts Ward to sleep. I can't think of many fighters I hate more than Andre Ward. I hate just about everything about him especially his faux-humble personality(His nickname is son of god.)

He is one of the dirtiest fighters I have ever seen. What he does cannot even be close to being described as boxing. He is more of a skilled version of John Ruiz, a humping ridiculously dirty piece of shit. Unfortunately, boxing has never enforced any rules. Mostly, fighters have some semblance of dignity. Not this shitbag, he will do anything for a "W".

He also is one of the most boring fighters ever, incapable of a decent fight. Even supposedly boring fighters like Byrd and Winky Wright had some decent fights to watch. Ward never will.

The rules won't be enforced and Froch will be held, butted, elbowed and held again and lose in a boring lopsided decision. Stink always wins. The only loser will be honor, dignity and the fans. At least one of them, will show respect for the sport even in a loss.

In terms of upsets, where would this rank IF Froch was to win and win handily? :kidcool:

It would be a massive upset in the USA.

Elsewhere, for instance the UK, it would probably alter somewhere between a mild suprise and a "I told you so".

Likewise if you flip the script, an easy, one-sided win for Ward would be a "mild surprise/told you so" in the USA, and a "damn, what happened there" in the UK.

Are you telling me that if Froch beat up Ward, easily, that the result, and the manner in which was achieved, would not be a major upset?? Come on. Ward is favourite here. Froch is not highly regarded in American circles outside of being tough and driven. He's regarded as being pretty basic, agricultural.

    Nah...

Ward ISN'T a MAINSTREAM American Quantity, as of Yet...He'll Probably NEVER B 1...It'd B a "Massive Upset" to Hardcore Boxing Fans in the USA, but that's about It...

It would be a massive upset, as 99% of fightbeaters are backing Ward to win and win comfortably.

I give Froch about a 25% chance of winning... would be a pretty big upset in my eyes.

To HARDCORE Boxing Fans, Yes...But Irish is Speaking as if the USA will B Rocked, as if the Liberty Bell will Receive Another Crack, or the Colors on the American Flag will FADE, if Ward Loses...

Show Andre Ward's Pic to 10 Average Americans & 1 of them MIGHT Know who he Is...A Froch Win Would B VERY Impressive & Shocking, but it WON'T Shake Up America like Tyson-Douglas, Jones-Tarver or even Pacquiao-Dela Hoya did...Hell, Pacquiao Upsetting Barrera Waaaaaaaaaaay Back When, "Shook" the USA More than an Andre Ward Loss would...

That's who I was thinking about.

I wasn't expecting John Doe to sit down and watch the fight and be shocked, simply because I wouldn't expect John Doe to sit down and watch the fight at all.

Pretty much the only people who know of these fights are the people I would class as being "hardcore" {to use your word} or "real" {to use my term} boxing fans.

"Real Fans" would be pretty taken aback if Froch beat Ward easily.
