Audiences turn Dumb at the box office

Alright, alright, alright, alright! Dumb & Dumber To became the winner at the weekend box office race outgrossing (literally and figuratively) Big Hero 6 with $36.1 million. The long delayed sequel success marks the return of Jim Carrey as box office draw since his last film to debut at #1 being 2003's Bruce Almighty. However, the abysmal reviews plus the weak Cinemascore grading and the debut next Friday of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, will make a tough sell in its sophomore week. Still the film will end its run with like $100 million. On the second spot Big Hero 6 grabbed $34.6 million which is pretty solid for its second week. In the third spot Interstellar added $28.3 million for a two week domestic total of $96.9 million. Debuting in a distant fourth place the drama Beyong the lights scored an unimpressive $6.2 million,but since its budget was a mere $7 million, the film will bring profit after its second week. Like the Energizer bunny Gone Girl keeps going and going even after seven weeks snatching $4.5 million and remaining in the top 5. The Ben Affleck starrer has grossed so far over $152 million.
