    Jaws,

Being in shape and going 15 rounds are two different things. Bottom line, nothing you can do in 13 pro bouts in your native Ghana will prepare you for going 15 rounds with a champ who had over 40 fights. Period.

That's fine. Then again, it works the other way around. Nelson, had fought only 13 times and was given less than 2 weeks to fight one of the best fighters int he world. And was winning until he gassed--in his first 15 rounder. Isn't it safe to say that he would've improved vastly as well? Its not as if Sanchez wasn't in tip-top shape either.

Dude, if you can't comprehend why it's possible a PROSPECT of 13 fights, in his first 15 rounder, taking on one of the world's best CHAMPIONS on less than two weeks notice, and then outboxing and outbrawling him for 13 rounds, might improve his performance in a rematch, I can't help you. Especially when that person is Azumah Nelson. Furthermore, Sanchez WAS preparing for a fight. Nelson was a late-sub. So it's not as if Sanchez was out of shape or something. Besides, what was he gonna do? Study tapes of Azumah that never existed?

Look, it's possible that Sanchez would've won the rematch. And in my opinion, it's equally possible so would've Nelson. Can't write off either scenario.

nelson was in shape, ready to go and put up a great performance. You can't say Sanchez was "ready for a fight" and yet Nelson was the one taking it on 8 days notice. They both were, Sanchez won, no excuses. Add to this the way Sanchez got up for big fights, and that he eventually figured out Azumah and finished the deal, he would have to be a favorite in the rematch

it just means that azumah was a great fighter. if it was some mediocre rookie, sanchez should've beaten him down easily. nelson, as a rookie gave him his toughest fight.

he then went on to accomplish bigger things. i think nelson is a top 10 feather and top 5 super feather of all time.
