:nono: wrong. Judah was smarter than that. Instead of merely takig a knee, he took a face to recover. Nady didn't understand that and blew the call
I'm going to rewatch it too, as I often agree with you, apart from where Hamed is concerned ;) And it's bizarre that you think this is early. A bientot.
I get what you're saying. I went back and rewatched it too, bro. It's borderline AT BEST...maybe a bit debatable, but nowhere near one of the worse bad stoppages I've seen. Byrd had been down twice. When he got up the 2nd time, he once again went against the ropes. He did not "dodge 9 consecutive shots" - he got hit clean with about 4 of those and they were big punches. He was trying to defend some - but he was not punching back (again, since he didn't punch back before the 2nd KD either). When the ref stops it he indicates he's ok...but he stumbles a bit. Borderline at worst, IMHO. Peace.
Not necessarily....but his corner did it (not the ref) at their discretion...I thought the distinction deserved mention, grouch. :kick:
The ref doesnt have to do a damn thing when the towel comes in. It doesn't stop the fight. The ref does. Benvenuti wasn't hurt and flipped out when he was what happened. How it doesn't fit, isn't appearing before me.
True....but the ref usually DOES stop it. Corner knows the fighter best. That said, I understand how it qualifies. Peace.
Yeah, I'm not saying it's one of the worst by any means, I just listed it because I happened to be watching it on Youtube at the time and I wanted to gauge opinion on it. He did NOT however get hit with any of those shots clean. They were skimming him (he was slipping them) and the last one hit him clean on the chest after he leaned back (dodged it). It doesn't rank anywhere near the worst stoppages but I do think Byrd did enough to be allowed to continue, it's a shame he was robbed of the chance.
Damn, you really don't like Chris Byrd, huh? Dude was drooling, doing the running man and sh*t. And you wanted Ibeabuchi to bounce a few more punches off his dome. Just vicious...
Hey man, I feel you. I just don't think he was robbed of a chance to continue - if anything, he was saved from death, it seems.
No idea. It was almost like they went in with the idea to stop it before it got hurt. Maybe thats what Nino told them "stoppa before I geta hurta". Maybe they took that "hurta" as "firsta time I get a punched"
:: :: King Carlos is the man. What a cool fighter he was. I can't believe he threw his wife off a balcony.
I was thinking more along the lines of fetish stuff. "Carlos, I want to know what it feels like to be weightless, so you may drift into me like a bird. Too feel like there is nothing at all in the world. Darkness. Weightlessness. Silence." "Deal"
I'd like to say that the excuse "too early than too late" though logicly sound is not a reason to stop a fight! Taking too many punches, could not defend himself, not punching back, did not respond to referee, those I can accept as reasons to stop the action, but "better too early...." If that is a reason to stop a fight, stop it before a punch is even thrown! Tonight I watched the Joshua Clottey/Jose Luis Cruz in which the referee Ricky Gonzalez just stopped it to the suprise of the crowd, the announcers and everybody else for no apparent reason. After the fight the useless wannabe referee said when asked why he stopped it without reason, "better to stop it too early than too late"- Something has got to change. They are screwing up my favorite sport!
Wurd. She found her perfect moment, no doubt. Carlos was a man after his time. A shame he was judged so harshly.
Dokes-Weaver I - A really bad stoppage. Calzaghe-Manfredo - The only thing more ridiculous than the stoppage are the Calzaghe fans who try to claim it was in any way justified.
