manfredo/calzaghe was a premature stoppage but calzaghe did stun manfredo, that's what sent manfredo into coverup mode. One punch and you could see the stunned look on manfredo's face. He covered up but forgot to punch back.
I don't think that was real. I believe Monzon's wife pulled a Seldon and took a dive since she knew she couldn't win
To switch it from premature stoppages to late stoppages, Ike Williams-Beau Jack has got to be one of the worst late stoppages of all-time. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xPzCi2IKdhA&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xPzCi2IKdhA&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
</P> Yeah, that one was pretty bad...reminds me of Griffith-Paret II, though I consider that one even worse - not because of the result; at least Jack was standing on his own and was able to stretch out his arm....Paret was slouching on the ropes, both hands down, unconscious.
Yeah, they should have let Byrd eat more. He didn't need that head, and anyways he would have made lightheavyweight a lot faster. ::
