The problem is they cannot make this fight interesting unless they become unrealistic. Superman could literally tear him in two halfs without breaking a sweat.

Same reason iron man has then I guess. We shall have to wait and see how they do it. They may find a " realistic" way of having them battle. At the moment I'm with you I can't see how this could be a fight, but you never know. Perhaps batman has invented a suit that is resistant to harm and that is augmented with kryptonite and this compromises supes abilities giving them a level playing field. Who knows?

 

You saw the little rocket Batman shoot at Supe and the Man of Steel grabbed it in midair at the end of the clip? Guess what's inside that projectile! :Bad:

 

I'm curious to see how they handle Wonder Woman . That's going to be tricky. I'm speaking specifically about her origins , how they justify her existence.

 

From what I read they are going to acknowledge that all these extraordinary characters were already around. in Wonder Woman's case, she took a 70 year old sabbatical and is reappearing now.

Saw an advanced screening of this last night, basically:

* Batman forms a UN-type deal to stop Superman from destroying another city as he did with General Zod.

* Robin The Boy-Wonder is dead - as seen by his costume covered in graffiti by The Joker

* WonderWoman poses as a Wayne Enterprises investor to retrieve an item that belongs to her people

* Lex Luthor is in the shadows a lot, a manipulator. Not much facetime with Superman

* Lois Lane is investigating Lex Luthor

* The Batcave was cool looking, and the mobile looked similar to Batman (1989)

* The villain Metallo 'kills' Clark Kent.

* The Daily Planet is bought by Lex Luthor for PR purposes.

* At the end Superman is living in exile, and the Justice League is an government-approved superhero team:

In Injustice : Gods Among Us, Joker makes Superman Kills Lois (who was pregnant) and detonates a nuclear bomb in Metropolis. Superman then murders the Joker while he is in custody and decides to enforce peace on all nations so that nothing like this will ever happen again. Batman works against him as he fear he will become a tyrant

 

BTW, I think the movie looks pretty cool. I usually don't like Super Heroes movies as they are usually childish, cliche with a poor story but this one at least seems to be more mature oriented. Don't get me wrong, it will probably be shit but it at least seems interesting.

 

This film is loosely based on Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns where the climax is a battle between Superman and an older Batman in an armor suit.

Some images in the trailer even channels the Frank Miller graphic novel.

In view of recent events in Brussels and the tragedy at the last Batman movie premiere that ended in a massacre, WB is asking authorities to keep police officers close to movie theaters were the film will be playing this weekend. Fear of copycat terrorist acts is high right now.

Yeah, rottentomatoes rating is disheartening. Nevertheless I'm still looking forward to the film; I've disagreed with the critics many times before. However, as panchy said, the DC expanded universe could be in a bit of trouble. If the movie makes a lot of money however it wouldn't matter what the critics say.

 

I thought Id hate this movie.....but it's definitely NOT a 40%'er

 

Critics always grade low Zack Snyder films. His highest rated film is 'Dawn of the Dead' with 75% fresh. 'Watchmen' 65% & '300' 60%, Man of Steel' 58% and 'Sucker Punch' his lowest at 25%. I love all those films regardless (well 'Man of Steel' was disappointing).

 

Good film. Fuck the critics. Enjoyable.

 

I'm still on the fence on this one if I'll go to watch tomorrow or wait til it streams online. One a positive note all critics have been surprisingly pleased with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Some even point out that her presence didn't let the film sink completely.

Oh and the ratings on RT have drop even lower to 30% as more critics reviews were added. :twitch:
Some nerds online think that Marvel paid the critics to trash the film. A new urban legend is brewing, folks.

 

I don't get why the critics were so harsh. The film is good. Money well spent. I mean the actual Batman vs Superman fight was an anti-climax, but the rest of the film was pretty good.

 

How you rate this film's Lex Luthor? people keep saying he was incredibly annoying.

 

Yeah, he was terrible. Bad choice for Luthor. But that didn't ruin the film.

 

The movie was boring as fuck. Very disappointing. Most of the movie was dream sequences and the action was piss poor. I can't believe Snyder screwed this one up and that the studio let this cut of the movie go ahead. Clusterfuck.

Interesting. I preferred this film to Man of Steel. I didn't find it boring at all.

 

I guess Snyder is no franchise/reboot starter like Jon Favreau, J.J. Abrams or Joss Whedon.

 

I read that Wonder Woman total screen time is just seven minutes. For a film with a running time of 2 hours 35 minutes that is just a glorified cameo role. So all the publicity on her has been misleading.

 

Even if it was only 7 minutes it was an IMPACTFUL 7 minutes make no mistake. She kicked some ass! Diana prince had additional screen time as well. Gal Gadot is a beautiful woman.
