Am I only the one looking forward to Pat Curan versus Toby Imada tonight.

Both of these guys have looked amazing in the tournament so far. Imada has a couple of impressive and dominant submissions while Curran is coming of the upset of Roger Huerta.

Coming into Bellator Season 2 one of the big stories was the addition of Huerta to the tournament. With his decent UFC success and experience, Huerta was the logical favorite to end up winning the Lightweight bracket and advancing to fight Eddie Alvarez. Unfortunately Curran had other plans.

Pat Curran, the cousin of WEC Featherweight title challenger, Jeff Curran, has seemed focused and much improved during his first two tournament bouts. Curran, a former high school wrestling stud in Florida, actually showed solid striking in his opening bout when he stopped Canadian Mike Ricci with a single right hand shot in the first round.

Next Curran faced the heavily favored Huerta and used a well-rounded game that included crisp striking and well-timed take downs to earn the upset decision victory. It was the first decisive loss for Huerta since facing UFC vet Kenny Florian in August 2008.

The improbable upset of Huerat puts Curran one win away from a title shot against Eddie Alvarez. Unfortunately an experienced and red hot Toby Imada has his eyes on a return engagement with Alvarez who beat him via rear nake choke in the inaugural Bellator Tournament last year.

Should be fun. Anyone making a pick? I like Curran via decision.

I love watching Imada fight. He's not elite, but he's got some crazy submission skills.

The only thing is, if he wins, he gets to be sacrificed to Eddie Alvarez a 2nd time.

Oh...and I'll take Imada by submission in 2.

Also, don't let Imada's record fool you (25-13). He's 11-1 in his last 12 (8 subs, 3 KO's), with his only loss being to Alvarez.

Man, bad decision. It was close, but Imada won that fight.

Agree. I don't really think it was even all that close. I thought Imada clearly won the first 2 rounds.

And what the hell was up with Curran not going after Imada when he hit him with that big shot that busted his eye open.
