It's official, Coker is in, and the tournaments are done. I'm hoping they combine the Strikeforce and Bellator names and call the promotion Skeletor. http://www.mmamania.com/2014/6/18/5...tor-mma-promotion-scrap-tournament-format-mma TFK
No. 9/19. Good show, stoppages all over. 29-0 Julio Cesar, some 18-2 21 year old, Manhoef looked like Manhoef, but then gets a title shot in his next fight. Less focus on their ringcard girls, no more tourneys--Bellator has a decent stable and tv niche, but I liked it better under Bjorn than Coker so far.
Looking forward to tonight's Bellator card. My favorite Bellator fighter, Alexander Shlemenko defends his MW title against undefeated former Cal State Bakersfield wrestler Brandon Halsey. And Boss's boy Marcin Held takes on the other Pitbull.
Held dominated Pitbull. He put on a grappling clinic, But damn, Brandon Halsey just made Shlemenko look like a bum. He's a stiff wrestler but the dude is bull strong.
Anyone that enjoys seeing Joe Warren get smacked around, tune into Bellator tonight to watch Eduardo Dantas pummel him.
Warren was stunned a couple of times but Dantas just acted like he didn't care that much. Warren pretty much won with wrestling and grit.
Warren is such a douchebag. The only thing I get a kick out of is that he stays in character. That was a sweet knee bar by Galvao. One of my favorite submissions.
Yeah, I feel the same way about Warren. I loved him screaming out like a school girl and then complaining about Big John stopping the fight.
Yeah, I was kidding. I actually don't know what constitutes a verbal tap, but screaming in pain has to. It's not like you can blame a guy for not being able to say tap because he's in too much pain to say it, haha.
Marcin Held pulled off another knee bar win in Bellator last night. Held has become one of my favorite fighters to watch. He has improved his striking enough to be competent on his feet. And when the fight hits the ground, he is unrivaled in Bellator's LW division. Held vs Will Brooks for the Bellator LW title should be fun.
I'm just worried about his stamina. He always seems kinda gassed late and now this will be a 5 rounder.
Very sweet move since he went for it beginning in the standing position. Also, unlike that dirty loser PED head Palhares, Held lets go as quickly as he can.
What do you guys think about Will Brooks? Is he a Top 10 lightweight if you out him in the UFC? He whipped Chandler who I thought was a top 10 guy. But that was based on his success versus Alvarez. When Alvarez came to the UFC and got embarrassed by Cerrone, it diminished my ranking of both Chandler and Brooks. Brooks easily beat Dave Jansen the other night to keep his belt but it did nothing to impress.
I can't believe Kimbo is actually fighting Ken Shamrock tonight. I went to see that fight in person a few years ago, when Ken pulled out and Seth Petruzelli stepped in as a replacement.
