huggge step up in competition Boo Boo he debut in 2008 what has he been doing for 15 YEARS?? He is skilled fast hands, good combinations(they look good against that level), chin up in the air, hands down to his waist…he will win a few early rounds circling and tagging Benevidez, till he gets hit…then it’s game over. Retreat, retreat, stink, stink… Benevidez by KO 11
If Andrade gets khtfko here he will never surpass Spazienza as the greatest fighter from Providence Rhode Island
The Subriel Matias-Shohjahon Ergashev junior welterweight title fight is set for Nov. 25 in Las Vegas on the David Benavidez-Demetrius Andrade PPV undercard, sources tell ESPN. Matias is one of boxing’s most exciting. First title fight for Ergashev, a big puncher himself.
ASSuming Jermall Charlo vs. Jose Benavidez Jr. Comes Off w/Out a Hitch, Another QUALITY PPV Undercard By TODAY's Standards... REED
I think there’s been rumors of Rey Vargas vs Brandon Figueroa and Jaron Ennis being on the undercard as well. That kind of lineup gives me a good enough reason to want to actually buy the PPV.
Andrade and Benevidez constantly brought up Canelo's name during their press conference. It's like bro just stfu and worry about your fight in front of you. Looking past that is a big mistake for both. Love him or hate him Canelo Alvarez has arguably been the face of boxing over the past decade. Nobody can deny he's faced an impressive roster of opponents. While he hasn't faced every contender it's worth pointing out that boxing fans can sometimes have unrealistic expectations when it comes to Canelo. They expect him to completely clean out the division, fighting each and every challenger(ffs). I even read comments recently about Canelo ducking Bud Crawford . A lot of casuals are just ignorant about the business side of boxing. It's a lot more complicated than simply following rankings. Various factors come into play, including financial interests, TV agreements. For people to accuse Canelo of ducking David Benavides doesn't tell the whole story. Canelo's track record speaks for itself. Numerous fights against top-tier opponents and he's maintained this level of competition for the last ten years. On the other hand, Benavidez and specially Andrade's resume fall short in comparison. If we're honest Benevide's most notable win was against Caleb Plant, whom Canelo already defeated and more impressively I might add. In 18 months Canelo demolished the 168-pound division when other fighters weren't facing each other. It's not Canelo's fault Benavidez lost his title due to weight issues and a positive drug test for cocaine. Only recently has David bit the bullet and signed to fight Doodoo. And as for Andrade...he has avoided top-tier competition for years, and some fans have jokingly dubbed Andrade a "35-year-old prospect." In reality this fight marks their first major challenge (both undefeated highly regarded fighters)and is long overdue. I say rather than accusing Canelo of ducking them they should ask Andrade what took him so long to grow a pair and step up to fight a guys like Benavidez. The winner can then rightfully get a shot at Canelo. That's fair right? From a boxing fan I do appreciate this fight and their willingness to make it. it's interesting. Better late than never I guess.
So Charlo is fighting a ten rounder at 163lbs against welterweight Joey 1LegAvidez on this card. good stuff
What I'm assuming this means (Jermall fighting Jose) is that should Benavidez beat Andrade, that the PBC plan will be to make Benavidez vs Charlo in the Spring. Between Fox or Prime Video, I'm sure some platform would pick up that matchup.
He's probably a big draw in his home town of Vermont. He could probably fill up a MacDonalds parking lot with all his fans .
Is he ? I watched one of his interviews and thought he said Vermont. I'm not a fan but if I'm being honest he comes across as a very likeable guy. Like a nerdy funny guy. On the other hand I don't like Benevidez, his dad and brother are annoying. I'll be rooting for Andrade to pull off the upset and if the odds are decent in may place a couple of bucks on booboo.
Andrade doesn't come across aa a bad dude, but he lacks charisma, which hasn't helped him. Overall, he's a waste of talent.
The charlo fight is fucking insulting. But the other undercard fights, Matias vs. Ergashev and Garcia vs. Roach, sound good.
andrade tries to talk shit and display personality. thats not the issue. its the fact he's fought absolutely no one, whether or not he's at fault for that, and he doesnt entertain or shine against the mediocre opposition he has faced. no one is clamoring to see andrade fight because most of the time his fights devolve into awkward, boring shit shows.
Exactly. I think he has somewhat of a chance next week. Benavidez isn't superman. But I don't think Boo Boo is tough enough to pull it off. Benavidez grinds him down.
I think if Booboo can win this fight he could become a household name. I've been watching his interviews and he's a really cool dude. People say Shakur and Boots are the future face of boxing but Booboo is way more witty and charismatic than those two. I know he's the underdog but I see Booboo winning this one. Call me crazy.
1. No one ever said Boots/Shakur are the future "faces" of boxing. That's shit you made up. Boots has the potential to be the future best FIGHTER in boxing. To us hardcores, the "face" of boxing is secondary. 2. Andrade could KO Benavidez in 1, and he still would be a nobody in the mainstream. No casuals are watching this fight. 3. I could also see Boo Boo winning. It would be an upset, but not some historic upset. I pick Benavidez though.
I half way agree with you. Yes Andrade may not be the future face of boxing simply because he's too old. He missed that window of opportunity due to his inactivity. Having said that him beating Benavidez would be impressive and would open doors to bigger and better fights. I pick Booboo via decision.
