Don't worry Irish, it's only one guy with one belt in a horrible division ... You now have a new guy to build a mass USA conspiracy on

I gave Stiverne only two rounds and one was because Wilder took it off. All three official judges gave Wilder a 10-8 round.

Yep...it will be fun while it lasts. My only worry is that the likes of Lederhosen and Jim Gray and friends won't put too much stock in it and it will all Sam Peter out in the end. It would be fun if they really put stock in this and went for it. But they won't, I think they will be cautious.

    I don't know that he deserved a 10-8 in any round bar the 2nd. The 2nd I would give Wilder a 10-8.

But...Stiverne was just letting the guy get the rest he needed to launch attacks. Wilder could have taken any round off after the 6th and Stiverne would have let him.

Stiverne doesn't get it that Wilder's length and jab are the reasons he didn't feel 100% in there.

    Duh.

    Stiverne making excuses.

I eagerly await wald pussy tepidly decisioning Wilder and boxing him as if wilder had a sawed-off shotgun in each hand followed by you claiming that all Americans thought Deontay Wilder was the best fighter since Sugar Ray Robinson

    Yeah.

Steve Lillis calling it well, as usual.

Stiverne "walking in tramlines" as Lillis puts it.

He basically waited for Wilder to tire.....whilst doing nothing, or what little he did, he did it in as predictable and as routine a fashion as possible.

I thought I was the only one who picked Wilder all the way(though I had him by KO8.)

I honestly don't think the fight will ever happen.

What WILL happen is that Wilder will settle into a groove and fight mainly American fighters whilst waiting Klitschko to retire.

Tyson Fury is a FAR more likely fight.

It was one of those classic tipping-point fights where either Wilder would get to the point of exhaustion or Stiverne would get to the point of being too-damaged to force Wilder into exhaustion.

Stiverne hit the wall first, and Wilder cruised thereafter.

Stiverne seems about as intelligent as Ibeabuchi. He beat me almost every round but no, he isn't better than I thought.

He's very disappointed, its probably not wise to ask a guy who just took a beating and is suffering emotional, physical and neurological damage to expand verbosely and honestly on the nature of how that damage came to be inflicted on him.

I would give Wilder 8 out of 10 for that performance. His keys to victory are pretty obvious and the question is can he improve on them and refine and tighten up his defence before somebody who can jab with him or roll in constantly into range gets to fight him. Wilder gets major kudos for making sure he took so much out of Stiverne that by the time Wilder himself started to flag, Stiverne couldn't do too much about it.

I thought Wilder did good. His technique isn't all that in a traditional sense but his power is legit and it works as his defense as his opponents have to be wary. I hated it when the SHowtime team kept mentioning how Stiverne didn't throw to the body enough - he couldn't, because Wilder's power kept him off. Also Wilder showed a quick snappy jab, a useful left hook and most of all good compose when Stiverne was getting the upper hand.

I am interested to see Wilder again. Him against Fury, Povetkin or perhaps Pulev would be great next move.

As for Stiverne, he also proved that he is far from a bum. He only has one game, which is counter-punching, but his fists are quick and he can take a shot. He would probably lose to the better boxers of the division, such as Jennings, but anybody who wants to trade with him is in for a tough evening

the first fight was excellent. look forward to seeing the flawed amir iman vs aggressive opponents in the 140 pound division. king may hold him back tho. stiverne would knock furry out, for sure

Enjoyed the fight. I still don't rate Wilder (although his jab was solid most of the night and his one-twos), but he got the job done. Stiverne struggled throughout. Had his moments but I never felt like he was going to land a telling shot to really trouble Wilder. I don't think Stiverne can have any excuses. He just didn't (or wasn't able to) do enough.

I haven't seen the fight but the result is surprising. I thought Wilder had a chance to KO him early as his power seems legit, but I thought a Wilder decision was the least likely outcome.

Quite a big step up for a guy who has only fought scrubs and never been past 4 rounds.

Also, I was a bit dubious of his power as he couldn't even KO Zelenoff. I guess that just goes to show what a chin Zelenoff has

I'll watch the fight this evening.

Briggs just wants a payday. He sees that now with Wilder. He just wants to get paid, whoever gets to beat him down it doesn't matter to Briggs.

It Wasn't OFFICIALLY Ruled a Knockdown, but Wilder Definitely DROPPED Stiverne @ the End of Round 2...Bermane was Hurt to the Degree his Legs were STILL Shaky as the 3rd Stanza Began...

Moreso, Stiverne HAS to Be on the Short List of "Best Chins" within the Heavyweight Division...
