Yeah but where do you get that idea from? Certainly not the comics. The me Bruce/batman was always rough around the edges. I always wanted a balding, drunk, with a mean 5 o'clock shadow to play batman. Someone like Bruce Willis.

McGuire was a solid albeit older Peter Parker, but his Spiderman was a far cry from the comicbook wise cracking webcrawler. Those films left me cold in disapointment. Garfield was even worst.

    I prefer Maguire to Garfield.

Haven't seen Holland as Spiderman yet.

Nah. Garfield has a really annoying manner about him....always fucking nervous.

Maguire captured Marvel´s character just right...just enough buffoonary, high-IQ and jokiness.

No idea who this young punk-kid is who Panchy is raving about.

    Yeah I've seen the movie.
The Spider-boy character just didn't register.

And Tony Stark trying to get into Aunt May's panties was fucking lame.
(Bet you ANY money Downey Jr got that into the script)

If I were Tony Stark, I'd have boned Aunt May then and there before Peter Got home. Marisa Tomei is one sexy woman.

Garfield was okay as Spider Man but those movies were trash overall and not his fault. I think Maguire was better. Holland was great in a small amount of screen time. That doesn't mean he can carry a movie. We'll see.

    Good Topic...

Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark...Lived a Similar Existence to the Stark Character in his ACTUAL Life...

Christopher Reeve IS Superman, Though the Newest Version is Very Good as an EDGIER Superman...The Old Guy That Plays Magneto and the Bald Guy that Plays Professor X are PERFECT...@ This Point, REED CANNOT Imagine Anyone Other than Jackman Portraying Wolverine...

Dude that Plays Thor is SPOT-ON...Ditto for Loki...

REED "Felt" Bale More than Any Other Batman...Keaton was 2nd by Default, Because Kilmer and Clooney were AWFUL...REED Has Yet to See "Batman vs. Superman", so he Won't Rate Affleck...REED Thought Ledger's Portrayal of "Joker" was Good, but Somewhat OVERRATED By his Death...Nicholson's was BETTER in REED's Opinion...

VISUALLY, Garfield was a Better Spider-Man...

Captain America's Pretty Good, but REED Can't Get Over the Fact Motherfucker was the Human Torch 1st...

To me Batman's character in general is overrated. He's not that complex, though they try to portray it like that. That's why Keaton is my favorite. Didn't try too hard. Bale is a good actor in general and the movies are solid but his Batman voice ruins it for me. Especially when he's yelling.

I'm 100% with REED on Nicholson as The Joker. Had Jack DIED following the release of Batman, everyone would be calling his Joker untouchable.

I don't have a problem with anyone with prefers Heath's Joker over Jack's, but it's fashionable to shit on Jacks' Joker just to prop up Heath's. They're depictions of the character were very different, and both pulled it off well.

In all honesty, I felt Hardy did a better job as Bane than Ledger did as Joker. But no one wants to talk about that, cause Heath is dead.

    EXACTLY!!!

Bale tried toooooooooo hard with the role. Whereas on the polar opposite, Kilmer and Clooney didn't give a shit and didn't try at all. Perhaps Bale was overcompensating for their non-effort.

Keaton was perfected. His Batman/Bruce Wayne was invested in the role, yet didn't try too hard. He just let both his Bruce and his Batman flow naturally with his personality.

Oh stop with this bullshit. Keaton just didn't fit the role. He was short and ugly...akin to having Dustin Hoffman play Superman.

    agREED...

While Keaton PLAYED the Part Admirably, he Was NEVER a Fit as Bruce Wayne, and ANY Actor Could Get Away w/Wearing the Suit...Bruce Wayne was Good Looking and a Physical Specimen...Michael Keaton is Anything BUT That....

You and Sly are in the minority. Who actually watches Batman and thinks to themselves "Keaton just doesn't look the part?"

Michael Keaton IS Batman. Like it or not.

Just like Sean Connery IS James Bond, and Christopher Reeve IS Superman.

Bale is THIRD on my Batman list. I liked Affleck's Batman more than Bale's.

No one wants to talk about that because it's indefensible. Bane was an awful villain with a hilarious voice. I prefer Jack's Joker overall but Ledger did a great job.

Actually prefer Keaton all up as Batman. Has a nice 'possible nutter' feel to him which worked. Batman is only as good as his villains anyway. Best rogues gallery in comics.

Again, ANYBODY Can Look the Part In the SUIT, but Keaton NEVER Came Close to Matching the LOOK of Bruce Wayne...Keaton Also Portrayed Wayne More COMICLY Than Bale, Kilmer, Clooney, and Probably Affleck...Bruce Wayne WASN'T a "Funny" Guy...

For Former Comic Book NERDS Like REED, RESEMBLING the Superhero You're Portraying is KEY...On That Very Note, REED HATED Terrance Howard as James Rhodey Rhodes, Because Rhodey WAN'T a Light Skinned Brother, AND REED Hated Cheadle as Rhodey, Because Rhodey was a BUFF Brother...

REED Takes Comic Flick CASTING w/the Utmost Seriousness...REED Even PREFERs Relatively UNKNOWN Actors Being Cast, Over Those Guaranteed to BOOST Sales....

I'll admit, I'm not a comic nerd, so I can't really fault your reasoning.

But IMO, despite not having the build and the good looks of Bale, Keaton was smoother and less forced as Bruce Wayne.

And as BATMAN, no contest. Bale's Batman voice is fucking DREADFUL!

The Voice WAS a Bit Much, but When You Think about it, it was NECESSARY...

In Reality, if Batman DIDN'T Disguise His Voice Somewhat, EVERYBODY Would Quickly Identify Him as Bruce Wayne...Wayne was a PROMINENT Figure in Gotham City and His Voice Would Be EASILY Recognizable...

You CAN'T Go the Corny Superman Route and Have the Motherfucker Wear a Pair of Glasses as his "Disguise", and NOBODY Notice a Resemblance...To Make the Story More GENUINE, Batman HAD to Disguise his Voice in REED's Opinion....

Last thing I'll say, Keaton's Batman was EDGIER than people might remember. It's not like he was some buffoon who was cracking jokes more than kicking ass, which is what Clooney did with the character.

Clooney's Batman has to be THE worst superhero in history.

    Double-THIS.

In fact, on that note, Hardy´s ridiculously camp-posh voice as Bane is probably the worst of all-time.

Agreed on all points. Rhodey should have been played by Morris Chestnut or someone like that. Bruce Wayne was a tall, handsome suave character...not this short funny looking quirky cunt. Resembling the hero is indeed key.

Absolutely. It always made sense to me for him to disguise his voice..plus creating that scary Batman persona for the criminals by having a dark spooky voice. I don't know why these guys are complaining about that. It fit the narrative perfectly.

The thing about Batman is there is no "real batman" or "real Bruce Wayne". There's just a crazy guy that no one really knows who plays two separate characters. The over the top voice is the same as the over the top exploits with models and yachts.

Nicholson made that movie even more than Ledger and Hardy made the others. Keaton was an ok Bruce Wayne but he might as well have been CGI as Batman.

Chestnut isn't going to win an academy award anytime soon, but he's not that bad. He acts well enough to pull off a supporting superhero character. Rhodey didn't need to played by a Denzel caliber actor
