That's cool, but I think going in and shooting the unarmed inn keeper was worse than kicking the shit out of English Bob. I guess the scale does tip in Little Bill's favour when he kills Ned, but Clint also killed the young kid who was partnered with the guy shot in the shithouse.

Then Clint walks in and kills like 5 guys and Little Bill. Still, they were planning on doing the same to him.

He reverted to being the remorseless killer who he'd been previously---the one who dynamited the mine, killing women and children, and then killing a U.S. Marshal. To me, those were worse things than Little Bill had done.

Torturing Ned to death is far worse than killing the unarmed Inn Keeper, who quite frankly, had it coming to him in terms of principle: "Well he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his place with my friend".

the 5 guys that he killed in addition to L'il Bill were merely casualties of war...he had no choice if he was going to get to Bill. As for the guy's partner who he killed..fuck him, he was partners of the guy who scarred the hooker.

Anger out of vengeance for the killing of his friend doesn't make him the same guy who had previously killed women and children, IMO

Not even when he cops to it with no remorse? Such as when he says, "That's right! I killed women and children! I killed everything that's walked or crawled on this Earth at one time or another, and I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you done to Ned!"

What else was he going to say? He tried to put the past behind him and Bill wants to bring it up again. Fact is he was there to kill bill. So his response was like saying ''Whatever dude...I can't change the past, but this doesn't change the fact that I'm going to kill you too".

Yeah Unforgiven was garbage. I don't know why it's highly regarded.

That just sounds like you didn't understand it. I thought it was a great deconstruction of Westerns.

It wasn't garbage. I agree though that it was far from being one of the best Westerns. I can think of six just off the top of my head that were significantly better.

Exactly. It is very different from Eastwoods earlier work, Once Upon A Time In West and other classics but the difference is the whole point of the movie. It is a great film

Great film but inferior to the others that you've mentioned.

Let me mention two fellas with a long history of playing goodies, who ventured into unchartered territory as villains & really impressed me in doing so...

    Bruce Willis (The Jackal)

    Sam Neill (Event Horizon)

Cole Hauser played a very sneaky villain in Pitch Black I.

Have you ever seen Quick and The Dead? Hackman was TOTALLY heartless and ruthless in it. Heartless enough to kill his own son(Dicaprio) at the end.

LOL. My bad bro. The movie is still very much worth watching though, and I didnt spoil the VERY END either.

The plot of the movie is this: Sharon Stone travels into this lawless town, which Hackman runs, to exact revenge on Hackman for murdering her father years back. So she enters this quick draw contest which Hackman holds every year to decide the fastest gun out. If you love quick draw movies, Quick and The Dead is prob one of the best, because the ENTIRE movie is based on quick draw gun fights. Like I said before.... its not a "great" movie, but its a very entertaining one.

    So because I didn't like it, I don't understand it? Cmon man.:bangh:

As a recent fan of Westerns I went out and watched a lot of them.

Unforgiven was HYPED UP big time, not to mention being in the Top 100 films on AFI.

In that context it was a major let down. I have seen at least 10 better Westerns and I'm just getting started.

Did you like Appaloosa? I thought it was way better and it's my favorite Western. If you don't like it, you probably don't understand it.:stir:

Actually I haven't seen Appaloosa. I'm sure I'll understand it though as I'm way brighter than you. Don't forget, I've heard your radio voice. You sound like Corky from Life Goes On after he suffered a near-career-ending head injury:slap:.

Appaloosa's one of the most overrated movies of recent years! It was mediocre as FUCK!

3:10 to Yuma (the remake with Russell Crowe & Christian Bale)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Appaloosa

    Appaloosa blows!

The only way you are "brighter" than me is via skin color. As for my radio voice, if what you say is true, I wouldn't be in radio.

3:10 to Yuma was very good, but not as good as Appaloosa, regardless BOTH are better than Unforgiven.

Never mind. Apart from Hackman's great performance it is a very stupid movie. The only way it is entertaining is the way Rambo IV is, meaning that it is fun to see people get shot, thus knowing the end doesn't take anything away from it

It wasnt at the end anyways. Leo wasnt a big star than and its not a big deal. But the fact you havent seen this movie is ridiculous.

Im sure most people didnt know Sam raimi directed it
