Pretty clearly Inoue IMO. I'm assuming by better you mean who's better inside the ring, not who's achieved more. Inoue's offense is just so, so devastating. Canelo's best physical attributes seem to be his chin and his accuracy IMO, which Inoue is just as good in both areas as him, but also is much quicker and hits harder pound for pound. In terms of fundamentals, they're as good as anyone is today, although I'd give it Inoue if pressed for an answer. I'd probably say Canelo has the edge in pure skills as he has a more advanced array of feints and defensive work than Inoue does. Inoue's defence isn't as poor as it's often made out, though it's definitely not perfect. The big aspects where Inoue pulls away though, are stamina, jabbing and footwork. Inoue has bags and bags of stamina, and can throw power shots at a torrid pace all twelve rounds, whereas Canelo is blowing after three or four competitive exchanges. Inoue's jab is brilliant, far better than Canelo's. And Inoue has excellent footwork both on the front and back-foot and it's much quicker than Canelo's. Both are brilliant at being on position to punch, but Inoue closes the gap much more subtlety and effectively than Canelo does IMO.
