No, Montel Griffin fought like a destitute man's punchless Archie Moore in that fight... DM doesn't fight that way

Agreed. Dariusz is basic, and hittable. He'd get tagged at will be Jones, it would be brutal.

Calzaghe was not past-prime against Jones... there's no evidence to suggest otherwise... If anything, he was better than he had been as a younger fighter

Roy Jones wasn't "past prime", he was COMPLETELY SHOT

Calzaghe fought almost his entire career at 168...the last two fights of his career were at light heavyweight....alot of American fans think he was in his prime because he finally towards the end of his career fight fought on American soil against American fighters and looked good doing it beating 2 all time greats..,Jones was past his prime...not shot...shot is someone who can't beat anyone...Roy was on a 3 fight winning streak against above average competition. He even looked good in a losing effort against Tarver...There is no doubt that Calzaghe would have not given Roy a good fight at 168

Impressive. This might be the most consistently wrong post in Fightbeat history.

I don't give any of these guys much of a shot, so I'll go with the biggest guy who would've fought the oldest Roy.

Darius patiently presses punches range and throws with his opponent which is exactly what Montel did. I doubt he'd do it as effectively because he'd be too easy to hit, but he'd force a fight and might get lucky

I guess the lack of quality fighters in boxing today translates into a lack of quality posters in this forum....no one can actually argue points anymore...I just clearly showed everyone that Calzaghe from what age 25 when he dominated Eubank and defended the super middle weight title a record amount of times and then what at age 36 he fights at light heavyweight for his final 2 fights and you people say he was in his prime????? Say what???

he might get lucky? Anyone get lucky....Roy Jones would have dominated this man...As soon as Roy started timing Darius and his jab he would have countered over the top over and over again. Mismatch

Croc, you're a decent guy but you should really stick to MMA imo, as you know next to nothing about boxing.

You're also awful at picking fights, as despite being a Calzaghe nuthugger, you said Calzaghe had "no chance at all of beating Kessler"

which is a place you need to check into considering your age....your what getting on 70 years old now?

I said he was past his prime.....what more do you want? You want me to say that Jones was further past his prime that Joe Calzaghe? Yes he was even further past his prime....but he was not shot you knucklehead....landing a beautiful counter right hand and flooring Joe and showing good hand speed and going 12 rounds throwing a high volume of punches is not a shot fighter

Oh wait.. A shot Roy knocked Calzaghe down because Calzaghe was overrated and would never beat Roy in his prime is now your new argument right?

You not only predicted Kessler to win, you said you saw no way Calzaghe could win the fight. I remember it clearly, as it was an odd pick for a Calzaghe fan especially.

You know less than most of the people on this forum, much, much less.

Roy Jones "three good wins" after being put in consecutive comas by Tarver and Johnson and then basically coming to survive against Tarver in the rubber match (which you outrageously refer to as "looking good") were against two bums nobody has ever heard of and a geriatric Felix Trinidad... He was completely fucking used up... Calzaghe was as good as he'd ever been, probably better and coming off of the two best wins of his career
