:l1::l1:It is funny because it is true. The irony that Hut loves Duran, but hates "holders" and "cheats." Duran was a slob like Ruiz too. Peas in a pod two dirty holding, humping, homo grease balls.

Watched a random round of Ruiz-Golota and a random round of Duran-De Jesus, there. The ref broke the fighters 14 times in 3 minutes during Ruiz-Golota and Ruiz initiated all of them. I remember once counting more clinches initiated by Ruiz than punches in a round vs Kirk Johnson. The ref broke it 3 times during Duran-De Jesus and it was both men coming together on the inside each time.

Whether the ref breaks it or the fighter decides to let go to grab again soon after it makes no difference

What was Duran's KO ratio at lightweight, something like 90%? He must have held with a great deal of force to stop so many fighters. How do you explain his beating bigger fighters after he left LW, do you really think the tiny Duran wrestling Iran Barkley would bother Barkley?

Duran is one of the most offensively gifted fighters ever, you should really watch him fight sometime.

Don't bother with these philistines, mate. Ike just gets sad watching Duran because it reminds him of his thick youthful hair.......Ugo is only envious that Duran has all the fiery, latino Joie de vivre restrictive Nordic mores repressed out of him.:dancingBaby:

    Duran's boxing ability was ridiculous.

Because a fighter likes to fight inside and grapple a bit in order to do so apparently makes them devoid of skill in some people's eyes. I think some people think unless you're on your toes jabbing like Ali, it's not skillful "boxing".

There's no other fighter in history who integrated offense and defense as seamlessly as Duran did, walking forward aggressively, slipping and parrying almost everything, and landing hard counters.

I am not saying this. Winning fights is what is important and thus the strategy that brings wins is 'good boxing technique'. This just means that Leonard, Wlad, Duran, Ruiz, Whitaker etc ALL had good technique

And if you don't feel like fighting, hold 'briefly' to prevent your opponent from punching and hump him hard to drain his strength?

No. Ruiz should have been disqualified in every fight he ever won. There's a qualitative difference between the ref having to break the fight 3, 4 times a round with clinches being initiated by both guys equally and 14-20 because of one guy who only ever throws a 1-2 between every clinch.

If you throw 80-100 beautiful, creative punches a round you can do whatever the shit you like, as far as I'm concerned. Mauling on the inside is no problem at all - holding on and waiting for the ref is. Duran did that when he was tired, admittedly, and should have been warned for it, more. But comparing him to Ruiz or even Wlad and their skittish bitch tactics is like comparing sex to rape. If you see 3 seconds of the act they sometimes look the same, but the context & intent behind them make them as different as can be.

My hair is still better than that holding faggot's."Your"on thin Ice , Hut. Attacking my hair is like attacking most people's moms.

Duran's skills are THE most overrated in history. Every Alpha male on the D block is a skilled fighter. Duran was a rapist, a gay one. Period.
