According to the rules of WBC, the video commission can recommend the referee to overturn 'any decision that can affect the outcome of the fight'.

I still maintain my assumption that it would be near-impossible to continue a fight after the ref has stopped it and one of the fighters has began to celebrate. Reading the rules it obviously means a case after which the bout would usually continue.

I could maybe see it if the fighter was counted out and it turned out it was due an illegal blow, in which case it would be a NC. Now that the ref stopped the fight, it would be too late to watch the videos, especially as Kovalev didn't protest it at all.

Also the article as well as the rules clearly point to the fact that it was Weeks' call
