I'm with Irish on this one. I really didn't see it as an action fight. It was pretty fuckin sloppy and ugly to watch. As for who won? It was a razor close fight either way, but Granados had no shot in Hell at winning a decision in Broner's hometown. As for AB, it's time for him to cash out. He's shit and he no has no shot at beating a top fighter at welter. What's worse is, I think he's become too lazy to make 140.
Broner may as well cash out while he's still young. He's going nowhere at this point. Make a fight with Crawford or Spence after he beats Brook, call it a day and go rap.
Rocky Granziado is like, well, an impoverished persons Margarito. Long arms, no real power, walk in, eating shots. He tried, but it's not there. Broner....pivoted and moved well.. That's about it.
Because he's going to lose to a Granados level fighter very soon. Any run-of-the-mill welter has a good shot at beating Broner. He's horrible at 147.
That really didn't answer the question. If you're making 7 figures and aren't going to make much of a legacy anyway why would you retire now? Because you've got an ass beating coming? So what it's not like he's undefeated. The smart thing to do is keep fighting for as long as they're paying him and retire when they stop. Broner'll obviously be several million brain cells (not to mention dollars) short of what Floyd retired with but he's only doing it for the money anyway.
Well, there are plenty of Granados level guys still hanging around at 140-147 (Berto, Rios, Alvarado, Ortiz, Guerrero, Algieri, etc) and if this idiot can clock 7 figures against Ariana Grande then there is surely money to be made against a bigger name. I'd actually like to see Broner-Mathysse but Matthysse was contemplating retirement after the Postol loss.
Matty Ice is so far shot that Broner probably beats him at this point. The Peterson fight version of Matthysse would send Broner to the ER.
Matthysse is supposed to be returning on the Alvarez chavez jr card, along with Salido aND saddam ali
I'd pick Broner if the guy threw punches. Matthysse may be past his best but against a guy as passive as Broner I'd still pick him without much hesitation.
