too pricey for the work we got from him. Like Iole they both seemed to give their 5th best article to Max then put up better ones elsewhere. For the money we paid it wasnt worth it

of course not and if you notice I rarely if ever discuss the site I work for here or any other board

everyone is entitled to their own opinion and should be respected for that.

I will say it is the nicest looking site, and put together extremely well and very professionally, I just don't care for the content.
The message boards from what I have seen are ok as well, I'm just not interested in the content of the writing there is all.
Oh, I know you are all good boxing guys, Eaner.

Eaner, himself, is a very nice guy...but for some unknown reason....on the boards themselves, with the exception of DobieG, he's chosen to surround himself with assholes to help run the place. :dunno:

    buh bye....

Have fun with talking to yourself bro...

I will proudly wear my "jerk lable" as applied by Karl, especially as will soon become apparant to Karlo that there is only one "good" poster left...

Karl, I answered the questions you posed and this is all you can come back with? Lame, little man....lame:eek:

i dont care for their membership, but maxboxing is clearly the best site in the industry as far as content goes.

it's also the most professional out of the bunch.

fightnews is the best resource for news. they have correspondents from all over the world.

yeah, i was gonna say everyone has their niche.

fightnews is the most reliable for instant news (not necessarily breaking news, but up-to-the-minute results and such)

max, boxingscene (sans the popups  ), and a few others for their quality of content (though Max is becoming in need of a revival)

fightbeat for videos (esp. for free and often better than the shit other sites charge for)

boxingtalk for breaking news and q&a's (though in the long term, one is irrelevant and the latter often proves to be a pile of lies)

There are other sites that in due time will come along. Arben's site deserves a lot more credit and attention than it presently gets, and keeps getting better. Hype's site is a great spot for those who enjoy mma as much as boxing. once he gets going on the boxing front, it'll be the spot.

some sites have simply run their course (eastside though it manages to still generate tons of traffic, thesweetscience, ringtalk), and of course a bunch of others that never really got going.

the key is finding your one niche in order to become (or create the perception that you are) relevant. once they find that spot, they stick with it and hope it lasts.

    Max....

I've been a paying member of Maxboxing for several years now...still no tshirt:dunno:

Anyway, I agree with Jake, what they are using for pay content is what they used to use for there free stuff....

Still, for a diehard fan its better than a magazine subscription with three and four month old stuff in there...

Cosign on the "each site fills a niche" sentiment...

I wonder if there are as many cyberthugs on other boxing forums.

FightBeat continues to gain respect in the industry despite a slip at one point. We've kept the news fresh, the addition of the radio show has potential, and some good videos have kept us in the mix .

I would say FightBeat is a top 2nd tier site with possiblities of breaking into the top if it continues to organize, learn from its mistakes, and build on its current gain with more quality content.

    Well.....

I read this site each and every day...I had more posts than 37, but some got dumped during one of the server changes (along with my eLIGHT status as one of the first members here)

Mainly though Buddy, I have four kids and a wife...kids being ten and under its tough to spend much time posting...

Mainly though, I just like to REED what people are saying, and enjoy most of what the posters have to say, from Sly to REED, to Donny, DoubleLL, and most everyone not named Stinger:lol: .

At 44 I am obviously way past my posting prime :eek:ld: and will leave most of the posting to you young bucks...:bears:

I think i'm at the top of 4th tier websites. Thanks to jake mentioning in this thread, I actually had to update for the expectations of the three people that showed up yesterday.

Does Brian Kennedy still wrire for you? Haven't seen his name attached to anything in a while. Then again, it's been a while since Berry Butler's last fight

I like your radio show as well. Matt and Tom make a good team. A less opinionated - and more professional - version of Mike and Mike.

Yeah, I should reallly call Kennedy about that. I gotta weed down my staff list. Few people out, nobody in. It's hard keeping guys motivated at this stage, but we have a good core unit with myself, Ron Scarfone, Victor Flores, Anson Wainwright, and Cory Liberty. I still haven't found anyone out west and that's getting very frustrating. My one good shot was lost when my site crashed (similar to btalk), and the guy's email account didn't work anymore for some reason. He was a web designer and boxing buff.

The radio show is great. We manage to get some decent guests. Tonight's show will have Bobby Goodman talking about the issues with Peter-Maskaev. I haven't heard it yet, so I'm looking forward to it.

I brought in Matt Yanofskly solely so he could do the radio show. The guy likes to talk, so I thought it would be perfect. Sure enough, it worked. Thomas just knows his shit. He'll crack a joke from time to time as well, but they'll be very subtle.

That radio show is the best thing we offer, I think. Sure, we got videos, but most, with the exception of our featured stuff, are exactly the same as everyone else.

yeah but the difference is, much like FB and B-Scene, you're offering that same content for free that other sites want to charge admission for. So that's a positive.

i agree, though, the radio show is the best feature www.boxingtribune.com has to offer (since the actual name itself had yet to be mentioned  )
