Brilliant strike by Sturridge. Only Marco Reus could have done it better.

Great job to save league position by Liverpool away from home

I would like to point out that the glorious Borussia Dortmund came from two goals down away at Leverkusen to win 4-2 and are now on top of the table.

    Have to credit Klopp.

This looked like turning into a total disaster.

Klopp was like a guy at the craps table, he knew the dealer was running high and he had the balls to keep asking for cards.

    Chelsea eventually went bust.

They got three goals against Liverpool this week from 3 bits of class from Hazard, 2 at Anfield {an assist and goal} and one here tonight.

But Klopp was brave. He pulled Salah, sacrilegious almost.

His lack of sentimentalism was rewarded and justified.

Henderson, off. Salah, off. Keita and Shaq on.

Not to mention Sturridge coming on for Milner, a striker on for a defender, it showed real bottle.

Cannot fault Klopp he got it right in the end.

Massive goal. It could be pivotal. Chelsea have played nobody until today and for them to sneak into pole position off a few bits of quality play would have been just typical.

Liverpool are now unbeaten in 7 and legitimately top.

Beat City next time out and I will start believing.

I don't think Liverpool have ever in the history of the Premier League been 9 points clear of Man United after 7 games of the season.

    Are City up next, Irish?

Have to be honest, I genuinely thought Sturridge was done. Great to see him back and scoring goals.

Fucking hell ... just look at that

England needs to enquire about safe terracing with the Germans... that's what The Kop should look like

This is fucking amazing... talk about atmosphere... I watch this several times per year just to see the crowd and the spontaneous joy of the goalscorer himself

Yeah but it's Napoli away in midweek. Tester.

Magical thing about Sturridges goal was that there was nothing on. Absolutely fuck all.

He put that in the corner like it was the most obvious, straightforward option, like a guy potting red to the bottom corner. Totally routine.

I did too think he was finished as a player, but I guess if fitness is fleeting, talent is permanent.

Massive call to keep him, massive call to play him, Klopp got it right.

If Liverpool can beat City. If If if........it would leave us 3 clear of them after 8, unheard of.

Agreed, but it's a brilliant quandry to have.

3 years ago.........we were looking forward to AFC Dusselwurst in East Prussia on Thursday night followed by a raping at White Hart Lane the following Sunday.

    Different story now.......for now.

The Premier League is balls but I think that was a genuine game of football between two sides who really do have players and who really believe they can beat anyone.

I still say Hazard is playing for a move to Spain, would not be surprised if he goes for mega-cash this Christmas, a la Coutinho.

Spurs away and Chelsea away.........out of the way.

You know what..........West Ham have come into serious form. Having them out of the way at home is a boon and all.

It could just be the year.

If Chelsea are in a strong position in January, they'll demand a King's ransom for Hazard

Why can Liverpool never time their title challenges to coincide with the seasons when Chelshit have downed tools and are playing shit, like last season? It's infuriating :D

I don't know. I remember the year they went to Arsenal and got spanked 3-0, and then Conte changed the system and they went on this insane run.

2016-2017 I am sure that was the year in question.

Liverpool stayed right with them until a 2-2 away draw when Mane gave away a penalty and left for the Africa Cup of Nations.

When he got back, it was all over.

Gotta say, it's great to see a competitive SPL, even though it will most likely revert back to the natural order come Christmas.

Livingston just beat Rangers 1 nil and deservedly go up tae third in the table. Very disappointed in the response from Gers... ‘flaccid’ is hoo Ah’d describe it.

Strange start to the season all in, especially that an apparently still fairly pish rangers side have done so well in Europe. What does it all mean? Are livi and killie that good now?
