Gotta say, it's nuts how Henry was basically king for an entire decade, but the absolute speed in which Ronaldo and Messi took over is astonishing.

The prevalence of that stuff in European football is troubling, IMO

I don't really see the issue with anything he's quoted as saying in the article, frankly

He's certainly within his rights to complain about its prevalence but the lack of perspective evident in the way hes formulated his complaint is galling. Mate, you've just stated that you're getting paid so much doing this thing that you can blow twice the median post tax income on a fucking night out and we're meant to wish a quick end to the hardship you suffer doing this thing because dickheads were mean to you one day in bosnia? The lads never done a job he'd be glad to see the back of in his life. He's in the top 0.00001% of the income bracket for running around playing a near non-contact sport - just catch a fucking grip of yourself. It's like a lottery winner on a solid gold toilet crying like a wean because gold feels cold in the morning.

I suppose, but I think he was making a hypothetical exaggeration for the purpose of illustrating the ineffectual measures in place to curtail this kind of shite

If a Celtic player said he hated playing football so much he couldn't wait to retire i'd want him out the door pronto, personally.

The "night out" comment irked me when I read it this morning as well, but the general point of what he was saying still stands. The punishments for this shit are pathetic.

Personally i dont see what a higher fine would achieve when it doesn't effect the perps or the fans around them one jot. Matches behind closed doors seem like the appropriate response. And rose seems like a pampered self involved brat.

I agree with the closed doors response more than anything else, I just think it should be much more than one game if there are repeated offences.

The "solution" that usually works is people with money losing that money. They will take steps to ensure that doesn't happen too often.

What's never been clear to me is what constitutes these bans and/or fines. Is it an entire section of ultras that are well known to the clubs? Is it a couple of drunk and very vocal assholes?

This might be going a bit off topic but every time you hear a pro athlete talk about a hostile crowd they play it down and say it doesn't bother them. They are so focused on their task that they block it all out and hear nothing. So they can regularly play in front of 50 to a hundred thousand people jeering, spitting, and screaming death upon them, but the moment the subject of the hostility is based on race they can not only hear it clearly, but it's gone too far?

Aye but they monkey noises cut through the usual croowd noise and are offensively distinct.

It’d be a wee bit like the croowd making strangled cat noises at SEEdog... he’d ken that they were jibing his jazz.

Just watching Bayern v Dortmund game... Bayern up three nil aftae forty minutes. Fucking just went foor nil aftae forty three mins!

Watching the boggin’ thing on a LEGIT stream but a right gypo set up - ipad hooked up tae a cable, bet ten quid on various events in game on Bet365 which gives me a legal stream to watch... had tae zoom in like the Hubbel telescope tae see it on the telly, like. Players look like 8 bit video game characters. Ah’m a true money saving Scoat (BT were asking 25 poonds fer the month wi’ a 35 poond ‘set up fee’ - they can fuck right off!).

Greenwich. They were there to purchase the club and liquidate the assets.

Citeh have a hectic schedule from here on in. I just think it will catch up with them and they'll fall short in the league and CL.
